Went for an evening meal here a couple of weeks ago , and was as always pleased with the food , service and surroundings of this little gem in Gwenermynnd near Mold. My wife and I had our wedding reception here in 1994 and again the set up , food service was superb . We had an overnight stay which... More

I stayed a night at Plas Hafod and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had an evening meal and can honestly say it was one of the best I've eaten. The only down side is that the radiators in the room were not overly hot. Staff were excellent and the breakfast first class. Would definitely stay again.

From the first moment until (sadly) we had to depart, we simply loved loved it. We arrived for a 3 night stay and nothing was ever a hassle, Simon and the rest of the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. We ate in the restaurant the 1st evening and the food was excellent, we would've eaten every evening but we... More

Loved the place, loved the food and the service was great. Nice to go to a classier place sometimes with real tablecloths and napkins and to have someone serve us. We will return when the weather is a little kinder and we can walk around.

Enjoyed a night here but stayed in what must be the creepiest room I have encountered. I am not sure if this was typical of their rooms generally but it felt like an overflow room, somewhere a pink rinsed lady had once resided but died and left the bed as lumpy as when she started her lie in, probably around... The location for this restaurant is exciting. We came here on a dark winters' evening, so we couldn't enjoy the view, but we could tell that it is elevated and surrounded by lovely gardens. Would be nice to return on a summer's evening. At once, we all enjoyed the bright Christmas lighting which gave us such a welcoming feeling. On... More

Attended a wedding here end of December and it was one of the most magical weddings I've ever been to! The whole place was decorated beautifully and we even had snow! The real fires near to the bar gave it a real homely feel and the conservatory was stunning. Must also say that the food we had was superb and... More

We had a wonderful candlelit meal in the conservatory last night. The atmosphere with all the Christmas lights and decorations was magical. The food was fantastic, plentiful and really good quality. Buck's Fizz reception with nibbles, starter, sorbet, main course, desert, cheese and biscuits, coffee with mince pies and petit fours was all served beautifully and we were happy with... More

We attended our granddaughters wedding reception at the plays haford hotel and from the minute we walked onto the hotel we felt completely welcome. The reception was beautiful and the master of ceremonies did a sterling job. We didn't actually stay at the hotel because they only have 10 rooms but members of the family did the rooms were a...
