Booked ahead and wise move. Superb greeting on arrival. Superb food. Super table service. Excellent from start to finish. Selection on the menu was traditional with a twist and modern. Portion sizes mean one course enough so the price makes sense but to throw in two courses plus booze pushes the price to 80 quid for 33 people so city... More

We have been staying at this Inn for a few years now and have always found it to be comfortable and welcoming. It is extremely quiet and remote with no mobile signal so no good for anyone who wants or needs to keep in touch with anything. The food is really good although, as usual, too much for me. However,... More

We stayed for 3 nights as a mini break straight after our wedding. The Hand is spotless clean, all of the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and the beer is fabulous. We cannot praise the place highly enough. Our 2 dogs stayed with us and they were made very welcome and settled at the pub... More

The Hand is a difficult place to characterize - a small hotel behind a pub or a pub/restaurant with rooms? No matter, it is a little gem of a place. The setting is idyllic at the head of the beautiful Ceiriog valley in one of those 'blink and you've missed it' villages. It does seem to be well known though,... More

There seems to be no option to leave a restaurant review for The Hand elsewhere but as food usually plays an important part in any hotel stay I shall leave comment here! First off, just to say that Llanarmon is a charming and character-filled remote village and the arrival is spectacularly beautiful whichever way you approach. The Hand itself is... More

We live fairly locally (less than 10 miles away) and The Hand is always our first choice to eat. Lovely atmosphere and great food (especially the pies). Can't comment on the rooms but whether you eat in the restaurant or bar it's the food is certainly worth it and there's a good range of beers and wines too. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a 3 night break at this hotel. We've visited for meals many times but this is the first time we've stayed there. Lovely big room with wonderful views over the fields. Really warm welcome and fabulous food throughout our stay. Great to be able to bring the dog. Love that there's no mobile phone signal! Highly recommended

Enjoyed a nice midweek lunch here recently. The hotel is situated down a b-road, well off the beaten track, but with pretty scenery. There is an attractive restaurant and 2 bar areas. They had a good choice of local ales and a varied menu. I can recommend the gammon and chicken pie - very tasty. My partner enjoyed the scampi.... More

We stayed as a couple with our dog for two nights. The pub is set in the very remote village of Llarnarmon. We were greeted by a young girl on reception who was very helpful and gave us some ideas of where to walk during our stay. It's great that the pub takes dogs although the only downside with the... My husband and I stayed at the Hand Inn for two nights for a short break. The Inn is situated in the glorious vale of Dyffryn Ceiriog., in a small, charming village called Llanarmon. After arriving late afternoon we were greeted and shown into our sunny and spacious bedroom. The next couple of days were spent in enjoying the food... More
