We were married at the West Arms and returned for our anniversary, our wedding was both magical and very special as was our return. We stayed in Willow a very elegant and very comfortable suite. Once again Grant and his team excelled themselves with delicious food. In summary great food, beers, wine and of course a warm and friendly setting... More

we stayed at the West Arms for two nights in the Bunny Warren, a bit disappointed we felt it needed refurbishing, it was extremely cold in the bathroom and bedroom on our first night, extra heaters had been provided but obviously took a while to kick in...The evening meal on both nights was very good, breakfast was lovely and hot... We had an overnight stay with some friends and couldn't have received a warmer welcome. We had tea by a roaring fire and later a really lovely meal, the food was good and the service excellent. I would heartily recommend the West Arms with its quirky layout and levels.

Spent two nights at this hotel. A warm and friendly welcome. Shown to our room, rather than just directed to it, with the offer of carrying our bags for us. We had a standard room in the original part of the hotel - not large, but very clean with all that we needed. The bed, with brass bedstead, was extremely... More

We stayed at the West Arms for a weekend of walking and relaxing and throughly enjoyed it. All the food, including the breakfasts, was faultless. The fresh trout were the best we'd ever had. The service too was excellent, especially Steve the manager and Kate who both went the extra bit for the guests. The walking around the village is nice,... More

After a frosty reception at the pub across the road what a warm welcome we received when we walked into the West Arms for Sunday lunch,. One of our party has some odd food allergies but this was no bother and the chef served up a fab meal with no fuss. The staff were brilliant, the atmosphere second to none... More

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely weekend at the West Arms, Great hotel, bedrooms a little tired. The best things are the food and the staff. We arrived and were shown to our room by Steve the manager, absolutely great guy made us feel really welcome. As we took our beloved dog Sam with us we... More

It is a shame you found the journey and location scary and too remote. There is nothing we can do to improve either of those, even if we wished to! We feel both of those factors contribute to the charm and beauty of the area, and provide a calming contrast to the populated towns and cities, from which most of... More
