I stayed at the hotel for one night while visiting the area to get a feel for it. The hotel is situated under the impressive castle. The train station is within walking distance. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming towards me with the manager meeting outside the hotel and escorting me inside! My room was well equipped with tea... More

Agree with others who have said the food was poor. Chewy mushrooms in my mushroom tagliatelle (they were dried porcini which clearly hadn't been soaked for long enough). We both had soup to start, I'm pretty sure my tomato soup was a warmed up tin of tomatoes and my husbands leek and potato appeared to have no potato at all.... More

I think the previous couple of reviewers must have visited a different place to the one I did. We stayed at the Y Branwen Hotel for three nights in late August. We ate in the restaurant each evening and could not fault the food. There was a different special available each night. There was a good selection of beers and... More

Went in a small group to eat here recently. What a disappointment. The pub is very near the golf course and maybe the majority of golfers that eat here aren't very fussy but the food here was really very poor. The staff are friendly and the surroundings are pleasant but the low standard of cooking really lets the place down.... More

Just returned from a group golf trip in the area and we stayed here for one night. Staff were very, very rude! The cook (couldn't possibly call this person a chef), was incapable of producing an adequate starter, all of which appeared to be bought frozen from Iceland or bought in a bulk pre made format from somewhere! I ordered... More

Very good value. Excellent dinner, good wine selection and excellent breakfast to complete a very satisfactory last night for three walkers on the Meirionnydd Coast path. The owner and staff are all very welcoming and friendly and run a great business which deserves to succeed. Only one small gripe-no Sky TV (indeed much to our surprise none anywhere in Harlech!)... We stayed at the Y Branwen for 1 night on Friday 28th June, we were playing golf at Royal St David's and decided on this hotel due to it's location, literally over the road from the course. Upon arrival we were greated by a very pleasant lady (sorry didnt get her name) who enabled us to check in early, we... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. It's in a lovely area, directly under the castle and about 5 minutes from a beautiful beach. The young staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, lots of windows that we could open and the bed was very comfortable. Yes, we were above the restaurant but we had no noise... More

This B&B is a friendly place all the staff are young and eager to please. The general decoration is good, it looks like the place has recently had a makeover. The room we were given was big enough and was nice and warm. The en-suite was a shower and toilet/sink and was very small. We were a bit disappointed that the cleanliness of... More

This pub/restaurant with rooms is right next to Harlech Golf Club, literally 2 minutes walk away. This really is its biggest asset. The accommodation was a little disappointing for the price, but the room was warm and it was nice to have cotton sheets. The beds were a bit soft. The shower was a bit leaky but powerful enough and... More
