Stayed in St Curigs Church bunkhouse for a well earned weekend of walking/climbing in Snowdonia with a mate. We have stayed in many bunkhouses in this area, from converted barns to static caravans and was blown away by St Curig's... Wow what a place!! We can't believe we have missed this in all our years of visiting Wales! (Dammit!) Alice... More

Called in on the off chance as needed overnight accommodation and had passed this place many times. Warm welcome from Alice who gave me the choice of the bunk room or en-suite. Took a bed in the bunk room. Clean, comfortable and a good night's sleep. In the morning had breakfast in the family kitchen. Excellent!

I have stayed here twice in recent weeks. First of all by myself as I was on a course nearby. I loved it so much I returned with my wife for a second visit. The setting is stunning. The building is amazing as the chapel has many original features as well as being lovingly restored. The description of the family... More

Fabulous building, friendly owner, spectacular setting, comfortable bed; these are the positives. However there are some downsides; too many pets around including a cat in the kitchen, things not very clean (the room needed dusting, the ensuite bathroom mirror was dirty as was the bathroom bin etc.) and the breakfast was well cooked but a bit tasteless (cheap ingredients).

Thanks Alice and team - we really enjoyed our stay in such a special property and great location for Snowdonia. A lovely mix of interesting hosts and guests. The breakfasts and knowledge of the area were excellent. We had a lovely sunset Llyn swim with bonus warm up in the hot-tub.

My sister and I booked to stay for 3 nights. We ended up booking an extra night. Alice is an amazing host. Knowledgeable of the area and nothing is too much trouble. She cooked us incredible breakfasts everyday and always had time to chat with us about the area and whatever else came up. We would love to go back... More

My sister and I trawled the Net from both sides of the Atlantic and we found a gem! Alice's welcome was warm and genuine; the cup of tea she offered us when we arrived was just what we needed, after a very long journey in my sister's case. St Curig's Church is a spectacular building, especially the interior decoration on... More

Two friends and I were struggling to find places to stay in the Snowdonia area and chanced upon this on a Capel Curig tourism site. We were bowled over by the initial webpages and instantly decided we would stay at least two nights. This became three when original plans fell through. The owners were more than happy to accommodate the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It’s probably true to say that there’s nowhere else quite like St Curig’s in North Wales. Ancient and modern stylishly combine in this B&B set within a 19th-century church in the mountain village of Capel Curig. Where else can you sleep beneath a carved stone pulpit, enjoy a hot tub under the stars or play table tennis beneath a fabulous 19th-century mosaic ceiling? And all with lovely views of Snowdonia’s mountains from every window… ... more   less
