Plas Curig hostel is a fantastic little place in a perfect location for exploring Snowdonia. I have now stayed twice and will definitely be back! Good things: Comfy beds, free wifi, bathrooms that are clean and well-cared for, lovely kitchen with lots of equipment and crockery, fantastic views, dogs welcome, brilliant areas to relax, well thought-out decor and layout. Bad... More

We first "accidentally" came across this hostel in New Year 2012, after a horrible experience at another bunkhouse. The hostel is well-planned, beautifully decorated, and has enough room for everyone! With rooms ranging from couple / family rooms to bunk rooms with 8-10 beds, everyone has their own private space in curtained bed-'boxes'. I could have stayed in my own... More

I have stayed in many a hostel over the years in the UK and other far flung parts of the world and this place is definitely a large cut above other somewhat tired and decrepit establishments. Highlights are the comfy beds with individual curtains, excellent bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen with induction hobs which actually cook food before starvation... More

Sixteen of us, aged from eight to fifty, travelled a long, long way to stay at Plas Curig and walk up Snowdon. It was worth every mile. What a lovely place. Fantastic beds, wonderful layout, everything so well thought out - lights in the bunks, a socket by each bed, lovely showers. The kitchen was really good. I was able to... More

This was my first stay at an hostel. I had high expectations based on Plas Curigs website and I was not disappointed. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the facilities top notch. All in all excellent. My only concern is that the bar may have been set too high for other hostels I may stay at in the future!

We had a fabulous stay at Plas Curing over the Easter weekend - we enjoyed it so much we stayed 2 extra days. The kids loved it - so cosy and comfortable and we all felt very at home. Also, very sociable - the ktichen and dining room were always lively, buzzing places to be in the evening with visitors... More

This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The location is perfect, in the middle of the mountains and a short walk away from Tyn Y Coed, a brilliant local welsh pub. The staff were really accomodating, and when we were past 10pm getting to the hostel due to traffic, they were willing to stay behind... More

Thankyou for being so understanding about the leak we had on this particular weekend, its nice to read a true version of events and I'm so pleased it did not effect your stay - the fire alarm going off. We really are happy you are going to be visiting again and we look forward to your next stay :) Best... More

£58 for a double room, no breakfast, no towels, trendy taps that don't work, change your own bedding, no house keeping, what's going on. I got a B&B in Llandudno for £50 with a great breakfast clean towels, housekeeping, tea making facilities a sea view etc. We were woken at 5:30 by a fire alarm, the trendy taps had leaked... More

There is no point comparing us to a B&B – you may get more facilities but none of the communal areas we offer here and I know for a fact a B&B for £50 would not be as clean, comfortable or stylish as our hostel (private rooms are £56 not £58). Our prices are the same as most of the... More

This really is a fantastic hostel. If you don't like it you have a massive problem and should probably speak with your GP, just to start with, but I'm sure they'll be other specialists you'll be referred to. In fact stop wasting your time and don't read any more of this review, just go ahead and book. Why are you... More

This place oozes quality, the owners have done a great job of providing economy accommodation without skimping on anything. The beds and bed linen are incredible. My only gripe would relate to not being able to easily contact the hostel in working hours but it is a minor inconvenience and doesn't materially effect my overall positive view of this lovely... We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We do strive to "provide economy accommodation without skimping on anything" and are so happy you can appreciate that. Our office is closed during the day and opens at 6pm until 10pm. Companies who work 9am-5pm should always email us and an appointment can be made to speak to someone in the... More
