My friend and I booked at short notice at this hotel in Aberaeron. We were given the family room which was ideal for our needs with one large room with a double bed and a single, and a second room with a further single bed. So we had separate bedrooms! :-) The room was clean and the beds were comfortable,... More

Having read previous reviews before setting off to Aberaeron I warned my husband not to expect too much. But my fears disappeared once we arrived at Monachty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic as expected but clean and the views were amazing. We decided on having our evening meal at the restaurant too, very good... More

Great staff! Cosy though quite large room with a great harbour view (Rm 6) Perfect location for the town/harbour-side Hearty generous breakfast included Slightly shabby and in need of some tlc in places eg picture falling off wall in bedroom and curtains off a few of its hooks in bathroom, and as every other review, shower very hit and miss!... We stayed here last week and received a very good welcome from all the staff. We were shown to our room, and it was perfectly functional. Smaller than a Travelodge, and we were told it had a dodgy shower, but found it worked ok. The bed was reasonable, but sunk a little. The view was of the street across. Breakfast... More

Booked over the phone and was told of a discount on the room. Normally £60 for a single but with the discount and not wanting a breakfast I could have the room for £40. Bargain I thought,I'II take it. Good job I did'nt want the breakfast. I was told it was served from 0900hrs. No good for the working man... More

Room 6 has great river view and is very comfy . The shower is poor and either freezing cold or boiling hot , the room cleaning could also be better . The staff were very friendly and the food was good basic pub grub but the full breakfast was very good . We also very much enjoyed open mic night... More

My family has stayed at this hotel/pub the last 7 years. We travel from USA to visit family in the area. This year we could not believe the drastic change. This establishment will be closed VERY SOON! Where to start. Let me first give you the very few positives...The food portions are plentiful and tasty. That's it. The folks who... More

Me and the husband decided to visit Aberaeron And found this very lovely pub! The staff were great and very helpful, explained what we needed to do and when we got a little confused the lovely barmaid showed us to our table and explained that it's bar service! The food came out and it was one of the best beef... More

We've stopped here a few times and although basic it is in a great location with really friendly service. There is also a decked area outside which has a lovely view of the harbour-great place to have a drink! The rooms are fine, en suite with tv, drinks all the usual however I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the... More

We stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday as it was reasonably priced for the area given what was available at time of booking. The location of the pub is perfect - very central in Aberaeron with free parking next door on the harbor. The staff were helpful at check in but not very enthusiastic at breakfast. The... More
