it appears there are new owners, as they ask guests to be patient while they refurb bedrooms... they appear to offer 'bright & basic' rooms, which i was obviousely put in. Circa 1970, green bathroom suite, mould, yuk. poor tv, hardly any reception -except welsh speaking channels. The reception doesn't open till 9am... what kind of hotel does that? i... more

THe hotel is inches away from a road carrying large lorries through the town. This causes a lot of traffic noise especially early in the morning. more

The Castle hotel is an enchanting bolt hole with friendly staff and great food. The breakfast was a bit slow however it was worth the wait and all cooked freshly to order. The reception manager was friendly and informative and went out of her way to find out about local attrations for us and even printed out a map. We... more
