This is one of the best hotels/inns I have ever stayed in. The hosts were fun and engaging, the food (lunch and dinner) was scrumptious, and the accommodations were fabulous (clean, roomy, comfortable). I especially liked the honesty bar in the lounge. I would recommend it to one and all, friend and foe.

My partner booked one night at this little gem of a hotel. The place is pretty, quirky, friendly and full of character. The surrounding area isn't great (with a used tyre business right behind the property) but nonetheless, it does not impact of the beauty that is inside. The tea and coffee on arrival was great and meant we relaxed,... More

A really warm welcome from the hosts and a wonderful evening meal in the cozy dining room. Breakfast was of an equally high standard with plenty of choice. The room was of a good size with a very comfortable bed, lovely toiletries, and nice shower. Good fast wi-if connection.

It is difficult to review this place as it is something of a contradiction. Its location is not great - an end terrace building with commercial premises behind. It has its own small car park which, when full, involves blocking in at least one other car. We had the smallest room which was, frankly, small. We knocked things off the... More

We had a lovely stay at the New White Lion which is ideally situated for exploring the Brecon Beacons. We stayed in The Vicar Prichard room which was very comfortable, we enjoyed the flapjacks! Dinner and breakfast were both superb and there was an especially good selection of gins at the honesty bar! Many thanks to the very hospitable hosts... More

This is a little gem of a place for exploring the Brecon Beacons, under the management of Dave and Diane, who are excellent, informal hosts ably assisted by Agita's ever present smile front of house. The rooms are excellent, with nice touches like the excellent flapjack bars to nibble in the room through to the honesty based bar and the... More

After a hard days walking & a long drive to Llandovery we received a lovely warm welcome & coffee/tea & biscuits in the lounge - much appreciated. Room was lovely, full of character & very clean & comfortable. We didn't realise they offered a dinner option, but we had eaten earlier so didn't take advantage of this (but the menu... More

We parked up and David in his chef's overall comes out to greet us. David makes all the difference, his approachable nature and sense of humour immediately puts you at ease. We stayed a couple of nights as we were booked in at Phil Price's Rally school which was an hours drive away. The New White Lion is a very... More

I stayed two nights at the New White Lion while fishing on the Towy. You know you are somewhere special the moment you walk in - everyone of David's team introduces themselves and you are on first-name terms for the rest of your stay. My room, I think the smallest, was easily big enough for me and probably for a... More

We stayed here for couple of nights whilst attending the Hay Festival. Hay is only 30 miles away and everything nearer was full or had trebled their prices, so it was by a happy accident that we found ourselves here. The welcome was warm and genuine, the rooms delightful and the food was delicious. The honesty bar in the lounge... More
