Kath & David are the perfect hosts. They manage to tread that fine line between making you feel like long lost family without being overbearing. For example, instead of a welcome cup of tea David served Pimms. He joined us for a chat before leaving us to enjoy the beautiful lounge. We felt immediately at home. The rooms are superb,... More

I can't really fault The New White Lion, it is just a great little hotel. It is stylishly decorated throughout and the lounge is especially comfortable. The food is very good and the honesty bar would put quite a few bars to shame. The owners David and Kathryn are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for them. It's the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights from the 27th of June. We both left wishing we could have stayed for a week and we're already trying to book another trip! We've both travelled around a lot and stayed in a lot of hotels but this was miles better than anywhere we've ever stayed anywhere in the world.... More

It was great having you to stay and thanks for the glowing review. It was great that you took full advantage of the house to chill out but also managed a walk or two and then you certainly deserved a glass from the bar. When we have time, it is lovely to sit and talk to guests even though David... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights over the May bank holiday, and will most definitely be returning. The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated, and I absolutely loved the decor in The Lady of the Lake room. The owners made you feel so welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant both nights,... More

Thank you for your lovely review, it was great to meet you and the honesty bar is a great attraction but it cannot compete with the walks and dramatic scenery on our doorstep. It would be great to see you again Regards Kathryn and David More

We booked The New White Lion for our second anniversary weekend, a weekend away from the hum drum of normal life and a weekend to ourselves. So what hotel when you appear early offer you your room with no extra charge as it's ready. Then offer you tea or coffee in the lounge, at no extra charge. Then sit and... More

This is a fantastic and 'different' place to stay. We were made very welcome on arrival by David and were treated to warm scones and tea which was a real treat. The lounge is cosy and full of interesting pieces. Our room (room 1) and bathroom were beautiful and the bed really spacious and comfortable. The linen was crisp and... More

We stayed here over Easter weekend for 2 nights...and wished we could have stayed longer. The room (on ground floor) was fabulous - very quiet and spacious with amazing bed linen including the pearl studded bed cover! Bathroom was excellent with great shower and clarin products. There is a lovely lounge with an amazing honesty bar - with over 10... More

We came to stay on a stunningly sunny weekend in march. The warm welcome, beautiful bedroom, comfy lounge, delicious honesty bar, amazing food... The list goes on. It is also the perfect spot to explore the local area (highly recommend the waterfall walks) and you feel spoilt and relaxed when you leave. We loved it so much we booked it... More

I've been meaning to write our review for some time. We stayed for one night on St Dwynwen's day (Welsh Valentines day) and our stay was perfect. I can only agree with all the previous reviews and voice how wonderful the service was. Our evening meal was gorgeous and if you're a gin lover (as I am), the honesty bar... More

Having experienced a wonderful stay at The New White Lion not so long ago my wife and i were back for more during the February half-term break. Once again we were given a warm and genuine welcome by Kathy and David and offered service which goes far beyond the norm. We have come to expect the quality of David's cooking... More
