Stayed here for one night when touring through Wales - very handy for the Brecon Beacons. Warm welcome from very friendly but not in-your-face hosts. Great room and fantastic dinner and breakfast - do try Dave's own brand muesli.

Cosy boutique hotel with delicious breakfast and dinner. Lovely living room with open fire for tea and scones in the afternoon. Great location for visiting Brecon Beacons. Rooms a decent size too. Would recommend.

Such a lovely hotel. Really friendly service from the minute we walked in. Food was amazing every time we ate and we loved our room (especially the Clarins toiletries!) and the style of the place. Dave was incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He's a fantastic chef too. The Living Room was such a cosy place to have... More

From the moment you step into the hotel nothing is too much trouble. Fabulous evening meal, David is an excellent chef, breakfast was wonderful, didn't eat for the rest of the day. The rooms are spotless, clarins shampoo & shower gel. Bed was large and comfortable. Thanks Cath & David for a lovely stay and see you for the winter... More

We stayed at the New White Lion for a child free weekend and it lived up to every one of the five star reviews given on here. On arrival, and after being shown to our room, we were welcomed with fresh scones and tea. Our room (physicians) was comfortable and luxurious. The Clarins toiletries were a welcome treat and delicious... More

Amazing stay! Rooms were impeccable and the food was fantastic. Service doesn't get any better than this! Living room is a nice space to relax for a drink or tea and scone. They advised us on a great morning walk straight out of the hotel before breakfast. Recommend going to see Carreg Cennen castle (30 min drive) if you have... More

Having toured most of Wales and the boutique hotels it has to offer, the service here is above and beyond. As the only guest on this particular night, David & Kathryn made me more than welcome. An exquisite dinner, clean and comfy room, newspapers sought for me in the morning, an extensive breakkie, and sent on my way. Would certainly... More

We had a lovely stay here. Kathryn and Dave made sure of that. Delicious dinner, great service, beautiful room, good breakfast including "Sensible Daves" own home made granola. Can't wait to come back!

We had a soggy day out at the Welsh botanical gardens, some 40 minutes away and so turned up early - there's only so much endless drizzle a man can take. Thank God we jacked the garden in early, within 30 minutes of being warmly welcomed, we were attacking the well stocked (and well commented on) honesty bar, defrosting next... More

Sorry you did not get to see Llandovery, it has its own charm but on a soggy day not too inviting. The Botanical Gardens are lovely as is Aberglasney, you need a return trip Regards Kathryn and David More
