Stayed one night in January. The welcome letter from the hotel says it's not a Premier Inn type hotel and that's true. The corridors are, as they say, a bit wobbly. Our room was ok, it was big, more like a mini suite but it was a little on the cool side. Also the toilet door wouldn't shut and the... More

Seven of us spent a great New Years Eve at The Castle. The plan was to sit around the log fire and drink and be merry. This was achieved successfully with the "full" support of the friendly staff. The dinner we had was fantastic. It is not often that everyone chooses something different and each person is more than happy... More

A scenic journey through mid Wales brought us to the charming little town of Llandovery and a stop over in the warm and friendly Castle Hotel. The wind and rain of the afternoon didn't bother us, drinks and enjoying a board game in front of the lounge fire kept us happy. We had heard about the cooking at this hotel... More

We enjoyed a warm welcome at the castle. Food was fantastic, room clean, warm and comfortable and staff very welcoming. It was a freezing cold and frosty night and the hotel was exceptionally warm with an open fire. A nice touch was the varied selection of hot breakfasts.

We used the Castle as a point to base ourselves to explore the Brecon Beacons. We were comfortable at the Castle as we saw the Red Kite feeding station (well worth the visit), Penderyn Distillery, the national park (including Pen Y Fan) and surrounding villages. The staff were friendly enough and breakfast was included in the room rate. Dinner; food... More

Thank you for taking time to write a review for us and glad you have enjoyed your stay. If it was, we would have done something about it for you and change it there and then as we do not... More

Lovely welcoming staff, bar with fab open fires, bar food in the evening was very good, plentiful hot water and comfy bed. Was impressed with the plate of cookies waiting in the room - they were also delicious! Good quality toiletries and nice to have a kettle in the room with tea / coffee etc. Breakfast was also very good

My partner and I stayed here for one night on our way to Aberaeron, mid week. Our room was very nice and characterful (lovely bathroom!). We had the sizzling steak offer (available Wednesdays) which was good. Breakfast the following morning was equally as good. It would have been nice to have seen more welsh dishes and fare on the menu.... More
