My wife and I stayed there for one night for a Birthday treat! The Nelson suite is beautifully done out with a lovely en suite and four poster bed making it spacious, luxurious but not pretentious. The evening meal was outstanding. My wife had the pulled pork. The menu is wonderful and the food cooked on a Josper Oven, the... More

We were welcomed by a friendly member of staff who told us that rooms had been altered & we were shown to a wonderful room containing a 4 -poster bed. There was an excellent bathroom with large shower & a roll-top bath-all quite modern & very clean. We enjoyed a very good meal in the restuarant -service was friendly & efficient.

We stayed in the Nelson Suite about three years ago and having booked a week's self catering in Elan Valley decided to book the same room as a fitting end to our holiday. The Nelson Suite is delightful and having had only a shower at our cottage the previous week, I loved the roll top bath and spacious luxury bathroom.... More

What a Splendid Hotel. Went there to stay and meet up with old friends and by god, we were looked after from the moment we walked into the building in such a warm and easy manner. Rooms were well maintained and spacious but the food was actually the best i have seen for many years. you can tell there has... More

Staff did their best. But they had a poor hand. Room 18: looked great, stifling hot, nice size bed, clean. Then went to toilet - nice little shower room, recently modernised, some poor workmanship but OK. Ah - no towels. What's the smell? Oh dear - the extractor fan for the kitchen pumps its fumes out a few feet from... More

Stayed at The Castle for 1 night after staying at one of their wonderful sister hotels. The experience could not have been more different .Check in was slow-the room was not ready when we arrived (granted 30 minutes early). We had booked a Better Room but were given a Good Room (#15) that was,in honesty,a Bad Room.It was small, poorly furnished and... More

This hotel is quirky with a lovely blend of old and new in a way which works. In the old bit there was exposed beams, wonky walls & creeky floors but it was nice. The greating was friendly and efficient but more than anything welcoming. The hotel was child friendly and note there's a small kids park only 50metres behind... More

I waas shown to a large room at the top of the building with a very spacious bathroom, excellent. The only negative comment I would make is that I didn't much enjoy having to sit in the bar (which is fairly basic) to have my evening meal and that the service at breakfast was dreadfully slow and then I had... It is very easy to drive through Llandovery, but worth a stop at the main town car park to spend some time at the Castle Hotel which is only a few steps away. The welcome was instant and a gentle feel of homeliness. We decided to eat in the restaurant which was very pleasant, even if some of the chairs... More
