Stayed at The Castle for 1 night after staying at one of their wonderful sister hotels. The experience could not have been more different .Check in was slow-the room was not ready when we arrived (granted 30 minutes early). We had booked a Better Room but were given a Good Room (#15) that was,in honesty,a Bad Room.It was small, poorly furnished and... More

This hotel is quirky with a lovely blend of old and new in a way which works. In the old bit there was exposed beams, wonky walls & creeky floors but it was nice. The greating was friendly and efficient but more than anything welcoming. The hotel was child friendly and note there's a small kids park only 50metres behind... More

I waas shown to a large room at the top of the building with a very spacious bathroom, excellent. The only negative comment I would make is that I didn't much enjoy having to sit in the bar (which is fairly basic) to have my evening meal and that the service at breakfast was dreadfully slow and then I had... It is very easy to drive through Llandovery, but worth a stop at the main town car park to spend some time at the Castle Hotel which is only a few steps away. The welcome was instant and a gentle feel of homeliness. We decided to eat in the restaurant which was very pleasant, even if some of the chairs... More

Arrived on the Friday evening (day before my wedding) with my Niece plus loads of bags, boxes etc. Greeted by lovely smiling, very helpful staff. Checked in and we were shown up to room #2, Lovely room couldn't fault it. Our little palace. Met up with family members, had a lovely meal really good service, food piping hot & extremely... More

Stayed for one night in room 3. The room was great; big and comfortable – will make a nice base for a few days here. Unfortunately, the taps only issued piping hot water (both hot and cold taps). My teeth have never been so clean, but a shower was out of the question. Booking.com lists the hotel as having free... More

Arrived early evening. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was good - clean and comfortable. Had a meal in the bar, OK but choice was limited and expensive for burger - not what I really wanted as an evening meal.

We used The Castle as a base when visiting family in the area and we were delighted to have chosen it. The rooms are large and individually styled. We stayed in Room #1 and my brother stayed in Room #6. Our room was traditionally furnished where was my brother's was modern, both were equally as nice and spacious. The only... More

"The Castle" has three room categories: "Good", "Better" and "Best". Our check-in experience wasn't great, although the receptionist was friendly. I'd booked on-line a "Better" room but, on arrival, we were taken to Room 15, which is a standard ("Good") double. We were upgraded, free of charge, to a "Best" room - Room 6 in the roof-space which has sloping... More
