We went to Memphis for my husband's college fraternity reunion and stayed at this Marriott for 3 nights. The formal dinner was held at there, too. One day they failed to make up the room. True, I had the "do not disturb" sign out until 9 a.m. but they never came back ! The smell of wet towels greeted us... more

I'd give this place a five star review if it wasn't for the lack of free continental breakfast or free wi-fi. This in today's world of hospitality seems implausible somehow... My girflfriend dealt with the staff, so I can't comment there. But they at least smiled at me... The room was great. Nice writing area, love seat and huge bed.... more

Made it to Memphis for a conference and actually thought this Hotel was downtown -it was not. It was a 13 story property surrounded by a high spiked fence with motorized gates...? In walking distance was Taco Bell, multiple dollar stores, cell phone stores and many vacant businesses. It felt weird and the high fence made me wonder what exactly... more

There are no good full-service hotels in Memphis, and the Marriott East is no exception. I travel to Memphis frequently for work, so I've tried them all. For some reason, the full service hotels in Memphis are all older properties, badly in need of renovation. The Marriott East has scuffed-up walls, banged-up furniture, old fixtures and appliances, and cranky, noisy,... more

My husband and I stayed there on our wedding night. We checked in with no problem and we were in a very nice suite. The bed was very comfy and it had a nice couch in the room. The bathroom was awesome. It had bath and body works shampoo/conditioners, which i'd never seen in a hotel. My husband had called... more

Hotel was not in the best part of town but I was suprised by how nice the place was. I stayed the night and the rooms were not anything special but the facilities ie. conference rooms and reception areas were perfect for a wedding, which I attended. The bar was extremely overpriced. I did not eat at the resturant so... more

The room was very nice, but to use free wi-fi that even camp grounds furnish, you must sit in hotel lobby. Not very convenient. The service at the restaurant was terrible ....tried breakfast, lunch and dinner....all on different days. Never any improvement. Not busy, just ridiculously slow. Have stayed in many hotels all over the country and this was the... more

The hotel common areas were pleasant, and the room was standard issue Marriott and quite clean with the exception of a definite mold/mildew issue in the HVAC. In the first room I was assigned on the 12th floor (Concierge Level), the odor was overwhelming. The second room, also on the 12th floor was marginally better, but still resulted in a... more
