I read the posted reviews and was very unsure about keeping my online reservation. I took my chances, and the hotel was fine. It is an older hotel, and the room was clean, and although the air conditioner was not as cold as I would of liked, what we paid to stay there, I would say no worries. The hallways... more

I must be honest not the newest hotel. But he hotel was very clean and decent. free coffee in the lobby, high speed internet. and absolutely the best pool in town. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Give them a chance. more

It is an old hotel with no updates. The carpet was filthy and needs to be replaced. You had to hold down the handle on the toilet for it to flush properly.Water and dirt would back up in the bathtub hours after you take a shower, then slowly drain ,leaving all the dirt in the tub. There was no type of ventilation in the... more

We went to the Memphis in May on 05/15/2009. We had planned on a stay outside Memphis. We arrived in Memphis around 11:30pm and saw the seedier side, the hotels where the prison fences line the parking lots and KNEW we needed to be in a better spot. We tried the Marriott and Holiday Inn Express, which of course were... more

This hotel was horrible. There was mold and dirt EVERYWHERE. The roof was patched up because of leaks. It was half popcorn and half leak patches. The tv was like 20 years old and channels were extremely grainy and the color for all the channels was purple. Most of the walls were painted black, as to hide blemishes. They were... more

We were visiting Memphis for the Memphis Marathon in December 2008. We drove in from St Louis that evening and our two runners were looking for a restful night. We pulled up and the hotel looked nice. The lobby also looked nice. That all changed when the elevator doors opened to reveal gum-smeared carpets and stained walls in the hallway.... more

This was by far one of the worst places I've stayed in all my life. It is dark and Gothic looking. Upon arrival I went to my room and there were stains on the wall and the floor as well as in the tub, I took pictures of this and went to the front desk and told them I was... more

Booked this hotel through Orbitz so it was prepaid. I chose this one because it is close to the FedEx Forum and other attractions, a good price for a hotel in the midtown area. The first time we stayed there on Nov 22-24, it wasn't what I expected but ok. The description I read from Orbitz says, it has a... more

I cannot give a bad review, like so many others here, of the Artisan Hotel. We liked it, it was really okay for us and for the price. We stayed there 4 nights in a row and then another night before our flight to Hawaii. The location is good, of course it is not in the middle of Memphis, but... more
