Doug Weatherford is not only a private walking tour guide, he is also one of the Duckmasters at the Peabody. We had front row seats at the March of the Ducks and then he proceeded to give us a tour of the hotel and the "Duck Palace" on the roof. After the Peabody tour, we walked through the area best... Apparently this is a great slice of "history"... although it was built in 1925 so it hardly counts as historic, but it sure looks nice. Anyhow the lobby is a grand old place and has a nice enough atmosphere. The ducks thing seems all a bit hackneyed to me now, but anyhow that wasn't the issue. The service was "stark"... More

Very well kept historic hotel. Lobby area/lounge is beautifully restored to original grandeur. Room was spacious, well decorated and comfortable. The gym was large and functional. The only thing missing for me was coffee in the room.

Bring some poison for the brown recluse spiders. Got my 75 year old mother a peabody house coat out of the closet in the room and a poison brown recluse spider was crawling on it when I handed to her. Threw it down on the floor and called security and front desk. They came up took pictures and started to... More

This is just a Great Hotel to say at and to enjoy all of the nostalgia. There aren't many like this left in the Midwest area. We had heard about this from friends who had stayed there and were not disappointed. I would put this on your list, it won't disappoint you.

The best part of my 4 night stay was the staff. They were friendly and helpful and seemed truly interested in the guests. There were several things to keep me from rating this higher. My reservation had been made on Jan 24 for 2 beds. When I arrived, 4/1, I was told there were no more rooms with 2 beds... More

We spend 3 nights last week. We got a nice deal using Priceline's express deals. I've stayed at many upscale hotels in the U.S. and the Peabody is a great value considering the location, history, and the many amenities that it provides to the guests. I think management is doing a great job!!! Our check-in was flawless and every employee... More

Came to Memphis on business, had deluxe double room shared with daughter. Room large, bathroom MINUSCULE! Floor hadn't been vacuumed, never was during our stay. One day room wasn't cleaned. Service so-so. Dry cleaning terrible, couldn't get simple mocha stains out of coat, but charged $15 for cleaning. Ducks cute, but really. Bar nice enough, valet guys very nice. Expresso... More

1st the tip: both viewings equally busy. Once you select a place to sit and the formal "event" starts you won't be able to creep up to get a better view - they have staff to help everyone keep out of the way. They are kind and professional but they will keep everything in an orderly fashion. Suggest maybe the... More

This is a Beautiful Hotel that gives you that 'step back into time' feeling the moment you walk in. Everyone was very kind and helpful. The men dressed in the red jackets just speaks class! We tried to see the ducks, but the lobby area was extremely crowded and we could not view them. Would like to go back sometime... More
