Glengarry Castle Hotel was our home for two nights. It is not itself a castle, but a Victorian mansion built between 1866-69 near the ruins of Invergarry Castle. The grounds are splendidly landscaped and feature many walking paths and a grand vista down to Loch Oich, to which you can walk via a central promenade. This is an establishment that... More

Following my McDonell family ancestry back to Glengarry, the Castle Hotel was a fantastic place from which to do it. Beautiful surroundings, castle ruins in the grounds, helpful staff, great meals. It's not pricey when you consider the service you get.

On our trip thru the great glen we stayed at the Glengarry Castle Hotel, Rm 3. Overlooking Loch Oich and the hillside opposite of the hotel. This time of year the deer buck were "rutting" and could be seen on the hillside. The restaurant was excellent, I had a steak and my wife had the mozzarella stuffed chicken breast. Traditional... A very pleasant overnight stay, we had not booked in advance and knew nothing about the hotel before we came here. We were shown different rooms in different price ranges before we decided to stay. Very friendly staff at reception. We ate dinner in the dining room, good food and fast service. The next morning we had breakfast before we... More

This hotel never disappoints, the staff, food, with a menu fully changing every evening are excellent, the extensive grounds are wonderful for 'responsible' dog owners. The whole experience of staying in this lovely quiet spot is relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable and the entire thesis of the hotel is to ensure all it's guests are perfectly satisfied. They achieve this 'In... More

If you want to get a taste of the Scottish countryside, this is the place to do it. Situated between a river and a loch, with sheep meandering up nearly to the foot of your window, this hotel offers an excellent sense of place. Take the short walk to see the ruins of Invergarry Castle. The dual sitting rooms allow... More

We keep coming back here as it really is great. Every time we come here we seem to have some personal problem and the staff are so helpful in sorting things out or allowing us to do things that other hotels may not. We are so great flu to them for their kind service to us over the years. Some... More

We booked two rooms at the hotel and paid in full several months in advance. As we were driving to the hotel along the A9, we came upon a huge traffic jam. Word was passed down the line that the road was completely closed and that there was no indication as to when it might possibly open again. There was... More

We stayed for 4 nights and could have stayed longer. Great location to visit the highlands. We had a superior family room which was generous to say the least. The service, food quality and ambience superb. Enjoyed walking the grounds, the loch shores and generally relaxing. Would definitely stay here again.

I had wanted to stay in a real castle for one night of our "trip of a lifetime" so I was disappointed to learn that it is, in fact, not a castle. It is however a beautiful old mansion built in the 1860's. As it turned out, there are the ruins of an old castle on the lovely grounds but... More
