Not quite a castle, but a manor – still a wonderful place. The best thing about Glengarry Castle Hotel is the surrounding garden with it's rhododendron paths and a pictoresque pond and the lake views. The dinner was ok and on brakfast they served excellent tattie scones and ornge marmalade. Rooms were spacious and clean. The library room was really... more

Not quite a castle, but who would want to sleep on a straw mattress in a cold stone castle anyway! LOL! Very beautiful hotel and the grounds were beautiful as well. Thought we would get lost in all the hallways but surprisingly found our way around pretty quickly! Very plush and comfortable, clean and quiet. Nice fresh flowers in the... more

This hotel was a real find. Family run, its a beautiful traditional style house, very chintzy and comfortable furnishings that suit the age and style of the building, with roaring fires in the public rooms. Though on the A82, it is set off the road in wooded grounds on the edge of Loch Oich, and very quiet (no road noise).... more

My daughter and I spent our first night in Scotland at the Glengarry Hotel, (also our first trip to Scotland.) Our first disappointed was the "not so friendly" receptionist at the front desk. When I was relaxing in the downstairs parlor a gentleman came in and never said hello, etc. just put logs on the fire. The dinner was allright... more

My husband and I spent one night here, and wished we could have affoarded more! The property is nestled on a large wooded lot, right on Lake Oich. Be careful though and don't miss the turn off to the hotel from the main road, it is tricky! Our room was comfortable, although very pink, with a great view of the... more

Glengarry is a wonderful place to stay in the late autumn. The dinners were wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed going to the living room after dinner for coffee in front of the fireplace. The castle has a very cozy feel during the late autumn when it starts to get a little colder outdoors. I loved looking at the sheep grazing... more

If the photographs of the Glengarry Castle Hotel promise high ceilings, winding passages, wall length ancestral portraits in highland dress, open fires and creaky floorboards then that is exactly what they deliver. Beneath the exterior is a comfortable hotel with a friendly atmosphere. The rooms may be individually sized and not modern but all the ones we saw looked comfortable... more

We stayed 2 nights at the Glengarry and left wishing we could have stayed much longer. My room - one upgrade, I forget the name - was great - huge compared to the b&b's we were staying at. It had an armchair and a desk. and windows on 3 sides with lovely views of the loch and the sheep. If... more

It was a real surprise discovering this wonderful place that provided a truly Scottisch experience. Arriving through the park at sunset is in itself a romantic experience. The castle is so oldfashion and this is part of the special atmosphere you can breath here. If you walk around in the evening you are really convinced you can meet a phantom!... more
