This is a proper old style hunting hotel with stag heads on the walls and period decor. The rooms are of an okay size and the bathrooms are modern and immaculate. There was even a spa bath in our room. We got here later in the evening and checked in around 7.30. We asked about dinner and were told we... More

The hotel is an old hunting lodge which has been very well restored to glory. For me the ambience was a perfect mix of informal and comfort with an excellent welcome by the young lady who looked after us for the evening in an attentive and friendly manner. The breakfast was very good. My test usually includes rating how good... More

Lovely location, and a restful location nestled in the Scottish Hills. Food was lovely as was breakfast, staff worked tirelessly to assist and make stay comfy. Place has free wifi and geed amenities for many different outdoor activities.

We stayed in the bunkhouse which was basic but clean. We opted to eat in the bar rather than the dining room, ordered the sirlion steak which included mushrooms, tomatoes, and onion rings. On ordering i asked if i could have this minus the mushrooms and tomatoes. I was then asked if i wanted chips with this?. Was charged an... More

Keep away!!! Utterly appalling place if you need to complain about anything, I've genuinely never been treated so badly anywhere, I'm considering pressing charges for assault. The management knew I'd be going in and out to check my dog who I'd left in my camper van but they didn't tell me they'd be locking the doors at 11.30. I was... More

This old Victorian hunting lodge manages to be both quaint and modern at the same time. The open fires and dark oak are welcoming after the torrential downpours of a Scottish summer. Although there is a restaurant we ate in the bar in the evening to be close to a fantastic selection of whiskies and beers. Don't judge the interior... More

As well as the hotel, the grounds offer the facility to stay in a bunkhouse or use a field for camping. As part of a camping debut for my fiancée and Trudie the dog, we spent two nights under canvas here. Those under canvas can use the bunkhouse bathroom, which we did. There is only one bathroom to share between... More

Late afternoon, after 4.30, we enquired about the possibility of a cup of tea at the hotel. We were immediately welcomed, made comfortable in one of the lovely reception rooms and served tea and warm scones too! There was additional hot water for the teapot and clotted cream as well as butter, true attention to detail. Worth knowing about this... More

I have stayed here a few times as its in a great position for walking, fishing, or even just as a base for sightseeing. The owners are extremely friendly and will deal with any problems you may have. The food is good and not too expensive for a Hotel. I stayed mainly in the bunkhouse which is basic but if... More

I was on a charity bike ride through the Highlands when two of us chanced upon this hotel at about 11am. We were soaked through, and certainly not the type of guests the hotel would normally expect, but we were warmly welcomed and served tea and biscuits by very friendly staff. I would like to thank the hotel for making... More
