Late afternoon, after 4.30, we enquired about the possibility of a cup of tea at the hotel. We were immediately welcomed, made comfortable in one of the lovely reception rooms and served tea and warm scones too! There was additional hot water for the teapot and clotted cream as well as butter, true attention to detail. Worth knowing about this... More

I have stayed here a few times as its in a great position for walking, fishing, or even just as a base for sightseeing. The owners are extremely friendly and will deal with any problems you may have. The food is good and not too expensive for a Hotel. I stayed mainly in the bunkhouse which is basic but if... More

I was on a charity bike ride through the Highlands when two of us chanced upon this hotel at about 11am. We were soaked through, and certainly not the type of guests the hotel would normally expect, but we were warmly welcomed and served tea and biscuits by very friendly staff. I would like to thank the hotel for making... More

This lodge is absolutely beautiful. It is like stepping back in time to a gracious era. It has a beautiful interior, a gorgeous fireplace, and lovely antique furniture. The owner is welcoming and friendly. The lodge is set on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley and mountains. It is a great location for fishing, hunting, and bicycle riding.

On entering the impressive hallway, we weren't sure that a pair of dripping wet lycra-clad cyclists would be entirely welcomed, but the reception couldn't have been friendlier. Tea and biscuits were summoned and the kitchen was opened specially to allow us to order lunch. Kindness and good service, which was very much appreciated.

Very enjoyable stay. Friendly, welcoming staff - unobtrusive but unfailingly helpful. Room very comfortable and clean with excellent new en suite. The evening meal was also excellent as was breakfast the following morning. The surrounding mountain scenery is spectacular. Highly recommended

Pitched up 7pm looking for somewhere to camp but opted for the bunkhouse as it was cheap, and as midweek and early in the season, otherwise empty. Good value - basic but clean room, good bathroom with power shower. Thin walls and I suspect could be noisy with a queue for the bathroom if busy, but for only double the... More

We drove up from Edinburgh, enjoying the beautiful views. Our room was nicely decorated and we both remarked on how spotlessly clean the bathroom was. It was a quiet weekend (the season hadn't quite started) so the hotel itself was quite quiet but the bunkhouse was full. It is a real shame neither of us drink whisky as there was... More

I didn't stay here (my girlfriend thought it was haunted!) but stopped off for an evening meal. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was also very quick. The building is very pretty and the decor lends it a very nice character.

This hotel is a perfect place to get away for the weekend. The décor is simply stunning and the open fire with seating all around gives you a great welcome. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was beautiful. I cant recommend this hotel highly enough. A wonderful weekend.
