We have been staying at Corsewall on and off for many years. As usual the service was excellent and cannot be faulted. The food is above average and the dining room in simply lovely. The menu stays vaguely the same and has done for about 4 years which rather tiresome. They have had the same deserts for several years which... more

Was recommended (and booked) by Stranraer Tourist Information Centre on the day. Helpful as always. Cost included our five course meal that was wonderful. Wine well recommended by staff who were very helpful and good selection of whiskeys. (breakfest also included in cost) Room was nice and clean with sea view. lovely setting in a lovely part of the uk.... more

I looked at the sample review before I wrote this, but it doesn't qualify this hotel. It is magnificently simple and touches the spot if you want to relax in an atmosphere of friendly staff, great food and a place to be if you want to just relax and chilll out. You know when you come home from a trip... more

We booked a weekend in october and stayed in the North Channel Suite because we have a small dog. The setting is splendid with good views over the sea and we did see some dolphins. The accommodation was spacious and clean and all right, nothing to complain at but nothing special. The bathroom was clean but ordinary. The food was... more

To those who rave this hotel so much, all I can say is that they must be easy to please. For the money asked per room this is not to the right standard. Food is excellent - no problems there. Room decor and generally tacky, shabbiness is another. for this price you expect smart decor, clean rooms, comfy beds and... more

after reading some of the reviews, we were apprehensive about stopping at the lighthouse but we needn't have worried. the staff are very helpful and friendly. whether the lighthouse has recently been decorated, we do not know but the place was fresh and spotless - a very pleasant surprise. stopping at the lighthouse, was a lifetime experience for me and... more

We stayed at this hotel, having stayed several times before, this August. We stayed in a ground floor room with a meadow view, and loved it. The staff were not just friendly, but well informed and keen. They helped us make the most of our stay. The food and service is unequalled in my extensive experience of Scotland. Fresh produce,... more

We stayed at this hotel for what was supposed to be the highlight of our honeymoon and were sorely disappointed. The reception staff were curt and the suite (North Atlantic) which we were in for the first night was appalling. Dirty, badly in need of modernisation and definately not of 4* standards ( the memory of the filth loo brush... more

Our 3rd trip to Corsewall and we weren't disappointed. The location is as superb as ever (well it would be wouldn't it!) . The staff were as friendly and efficient as ever, the food excellent , even the weather was great, particularly gratifying as it seemed to be raining everywhere else! We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite again which is... more

This is a magical experience, beautiful location, fantastic food and the friendliest staff you could wish for. Alas you cannot stay in the lighthouse itself, as it is a working lighthouse with the main body of the building filled with generators and back up batteries. However we stayed in the Dunskirkloch room, which was nice, but described as large room... more
