We went to Knockinaam as a spring treat, as they had good special deals available. We stayed in the smallest room (east) which was compact but still had plenty of room and a generous sized bathroom. It was comfortable and well furnished. Service was impeccable and discreet. The food was one of the main attractions and it lived up to... more

Me and my wife spent three wonderful days at Knockinaam Lodge. We enjoyed the quiet welcoming surroundings, the overwhelmingly friendly atmosphere that characterized Knockinaam, the staff and the whole experience. First rate food, wine and service. Fabulous views and and a superb way to relax in these stressful times. We can wholeheartedly recommend Knockinaam Lodge for those of you who... more

Food: traditional Scottish and French cuisine. Delicious wines on offer. We really enjoyed all the amuse bouches and the chocolates after the meals. Rooms: spacious, beautiful and well equipped. Surroundings: private beach at the front with an enormous garden. Rolling hills all around. Quiet and picturesque. Staff: very good service from the staff - they kindly pointed out they had... more

An exceptional location with exceptional staff I disobeyed instructions on arrival by parking my car in the car park instead of halting outside the entrance . No matter, Ian came bounding up into the carpark to carry the bags & escort us to our room before inviting us to tea & shortbread down on the private beach over looking the... more

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. It was absolutely fantastic! We were in Hanney up in the attic so the views over the sea were lovely. We spent one very quite afternoon reading and playing board games in the lounge, in front of a huge fireplace whilst eating afternoon tea. The weather was lovely so we... more

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 night break at Knockinaam. Unfortunately the weather made exploring difficult but we definitely plan to return. We took advantage of a March midweek special rate and it really was astonishing value! more

My wife and I had dreamt of visiting Knockinaam Lodge since first reading about its history in a magazine a few years ago. The allure of the Churchill Suite and his bathtub were compaelling, but there is so much more. Wonderful food, a fabulous walk along the sea cliffs to Portpatrick for lunch and back looking across the Irish sea... more

This has long been on our "list" of hotels that we wanted to visit. It didn't disappoint. We had one of their smaller rooms but it was still fairly spacious with a bathroom capable of holding a small party. The service was faultless, the food and setting excellent. Our only issue was the tiny portion sizes. Mrs "flying-rugs" is frequenly... more

We arrived by darkness so did not appreciate until morning the wonderful setting of the hotel. Though inside we were greeted and after dropping off our belongings in our respective rooms, we retired to the very cosy bar/lounge with log fire for a local ale and marvelled at the selection of whiskies on offer. David (proprietor) was incredibly friendly and... more

We have just returned from a truly blissful winter break at Knockinaam Lodge and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar break... we will certainly be going back. From the moment you arrive (and are greeted by Donna at the door) it is clear that this is an exceptionally friendly and charming establishment, where nothing is going... more
