We arrived a little late but got a very warm welcome. We were the only people staying that night but the owner offered to cook. We decided to give her a break and she gave us a recommendation for one of the local pubs. The room was spotless, very well presented and the bed comfortable. Tea & coffee were provided,... More

This was our first night in a five night trip to Scotland and Ireland. We arrived via motorbike rather wet. We were given a warm welcome even in our wet state. Rooms were very nice. Bed comfy, spotlessly clean, complimentary tea and coffee in our room. The cafe shut at 5 but we were welcomed to have an evening meal... More

Rooms and bed were great, bathroom new and clean but very small, room itself was spacious, with good amenities, rooms are all upstairs with big windows looking out on to the back courtyard or the square across the road. Was nice and peaceful, and a lovely cooked breakfast. Had no problems at all with Wifi. Recommended accommodation as you tour... More

This guest house was superbly located in the centre of Wigtown with plenty of free parking just outside. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean with on suit facilities that were an excellent use of space. What really made his B+B special was the welcome we received from the hosts and all of the other staff who work in the... More

We were warmly welcolmed to this B&B and instantly felt at home. The room was just what we needed- spotlessly clean, a kettle for a cuppa, TV, chairs for resting in the evening, plenty of storage and even a hot water bottle to keep warm at night! The bathroom was a little small and outdated but it did the job!... More

Spent a night here recently, really enjoyed it, room was clean and spacious, Carl and his partner are friendly and well loved by the locals, breakfast was tasty. There are books everywhere-turned out Wigtown is a book town. Highly recommended.

I recently stayed with my partner at the Glaisnock Guest House for 3 nights. Carl and Stephanie were extremely welcoming and friendly, with nothing ever being too much trouble for them. Both Carl and Stephanie were very knowledgeable about the area and were full of honest suggestions for days and evenings out. Breakfast was delicious and always served with a... More

We were looking for a central location to explore the bookstores in this lovely, historic town. The location was perfect, just opposite the beautiful square with lots of free, conveniently located parking. We found superb hospitality with Stephanie and Carl--nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner both nights of our stay at the Glaisnock. Stephanie did the 'cheffing' and... More

I really enjoyed staying at the Glaisnock Guest House for our second visit to Wigtown. The owners are really friendly and helpful and they were keen to ensure that we had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to our specifications. The room was basic but comfortable. There was plenty of room and we felt at ease in... More

Very comfortable and welcoming guest house in historic small town famous for a wide range of book shops. Glaisnock is unpretentious and simply furnished but offers genuine hospitality. Lunch and dinner are available and are very good value. Check out Carl & Stephanie's own book collection - some real bargains.
