I recently stayed with my partner at the Glaisnock Guest House for 3 nights. Carl and Stephanie were extremely welcoming and friendly, with nothing ever being too much trouble for them. Both Carl and Stephanie were very knowledgeable about the area and were full of honest suggestions for days and evenings out. Breakfast was delicious and always served with a... More

We were looking for a central location to explore the bookstores in this lovely, historic town. The location was perfect, just opposite the beautiful square with lots of free, conveniently located parking. We found superb hospitality with Stephanie and Carl--nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner both nights of our stay at the Glaisnock. Stephanie did the 'cheffing' and... More

I really enjoyed staying at the Glaisnock Guest House for our second visit to Wigtown. The owners are really friendly and helpful and they were keen to ensure that we had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to our specifications. The room was basic but comfortable. There was plenty of room and we felt at ease in... More

Very comfortable and welcoming guest house in historic small town famous for a wide range of book shops. Glaisnock is unpretentious and simply furnished but offers genuine hospitality. Lunch and dinner are available and are very good value. Check out Carl & Stephanie's own book collection - some real bargains.

Stayed here for one night in a twin room. We found it to be a lovely B&B in the very centre of the all the bookshops in Wigtown town square. The en-suite was a little small and decor a bit tired but very clean and friendly owner. The breakfast was great and we had a very good sleep. A lovely... More

We found this lovely little place by accident and had lunch there. Never had Haggis and cheese Panini before but it was so good we went back for more a couple of days later. We were told that not many people order it but once I tried it I was hooked. This is a great place to eat - nice... More

We stayed at Glaisnock House just one night and found it to be everything we wanted. Stephanie met us and warmly welcomed us on arrival, making us feel as though we were staying with family. Our room was clean and and comfortable, and the cafe breakfast in the morning was great, the girl who seated and served us was friendly... More

We were met by Stephanie who was very helpful and welcoming. We had a family room which was spacious enough with tv, dvd, kettle and so on. The bathroom was pretty tired, but clean and tidy none the less. Glaisnock itself is a very quiet town although that might be different when the book festival is on. There was very... More
