Our 7th year back, Nether Barr Steading really is a home from home. We have stayed in 3 of the accommodations so far and each one is equipped with pretty much everything you need including comfy beds to flop into at the end of a busy day. There are great views to be had from each of the properties. Very... More

A last minute booking can often prove disappointing because you've not been able to find your ideal location - not so in this case. The design of the strafing means that although you have neighbours you all have uninterrupted views, and it is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The views over the Cree estuary are fab. A spacious and clean cottage,... More

We booked the Hay Loft at Nether Barr Steading for a late break after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed! The property was advertised as one single and one double bedroom, but what we were not aware of from previous listings was the size of the property. Much bigger than we expected. The upstairs runs for the length... More

We came to stay in July and were amazed by how lovely it is here and what good value for money it is. We stayed in the Bothy which has so much space for 2 people and everything that you need during your stay. There is also a table outside the backdoor and huge floor to ceiling windows in the... More

There were 10 adults and 5 kids in our group and we occupied The Byre, The Hen Hoose and The Hay Loft. All rooms were modern and recently renovated but they all kept the old country charm. There were views of the fields and it really made you feel at home in the countryside. The couple who ran Nether Barr... More

What to expect? First of all, a friendly welcome. We were made to feel very welcome during our stay. The accommodation is split into several individual units, set around a courtyard with picnic tables. We stayed in the largest of these (The Byre), with a big well equipped kitchen/diner, good sized lounge (flat screen telly), two bathrooms one with bath,... More

Nether Barr Steading is set just off the road and a few minutes drive from Newton Stewart. Set in 15 acres of farm land Nether Barr Steading is a beautiful converted barn divided into self catering lodges and a restaurant. We stayed in the Hay Loft, a large two bed (double and twin) with beautiful views over the hillside and... More
