On our arrival we were allotted room 2. This was downstairs from the reception area and our first disappointment was that the room only had a door but no window at all! The door was fully glazed but in a very poor condition with many parts of the wooden frame in a pile outside. This door opened on to a... more

Hotel been modernised to a good standard but bedroom i was in leaves a lot to be desired .Old fashioned shower over the bath flooding bathroom floor with disabled handrail which meant you had to stand about 2 foot away from shower meal time was 6.30 till 745 pm but you would be in the middle of dinner when staff... more

We booked a 4 night B&B break in the Portpatrick Hotel arriving on 17th August. The hotel is beautifully situated high above the village with stunning views of the harbour and the sea. The ground floor of the hotel has been recently refurbished but the black and grey colour scheme was not to our taste. In an old building such... more

Hi, My bf and I have just returned from 3 nights at the Portpatrick Hotel. The best thing about this hotel are the stunning views. The weather was a bit rough when we were there but it was beautiful to look down at the unspoilt small fishing harbour and see the waves crashing against the rocks. The hotel itself is... more

We spent 6 nights at this hotel from 27 July to 1st August 2009 as we were travelling over 200 miles.. We paid a sea-view supplement and were delighted with our lovely room on the ground floor. The views from our window of the harbour were stunning. The choice of food both for breakfast and evening meal were very good... more

My wife and I stayed here on June 26th and 27th 2009. We had been given a travel voucher from my parents and were limited as to its use. Shearings was one of the companies and after looking at various places on their website we chose The Portpatrick Hotel as the room displayed were modern and recently refurbished. There was... more

I will try to give you a balanced review as my wife will want "her" tuppence worth as well. They say opposites attract and in our case this might be true, I am the positive and she is the negative, I am the light and she is the dark! You get the picture. No matter what you do they always... more

My wife and I spent a most enjoyable weekend break at this hotel from 29th. May - 01st. June, 2009 with Shearings on a half board basis and which proved to be excellent value for money. This is a typical old Scottish hotel - clean and comfortable with en-suite facilities. The public areas including the large dining room appeared to... more

This was a self drive trip to a Shearings Hoyel and was good value. The hotel has recently been upgraded and looked very good. The food as always at Shearings hotels was very good and the service from all staff was first class. The small complaint I had was that the shower did not work too well but that was... more
