My Wife and I stayed here on our way to Ireland. We were freshly married in Gretna Green and needed a place to stay before taking the ferry to Ireland. The hosts were just amazing!! We would not have survived our trip if it was not for them. The accomidations were excellent. Rooms were very clean and bright. Lots of... more

Great overnight stay. Our room was beautifully decorated with co-ordinating accessories. Everything you need for a cosy stay -Tea, biscuits, water, a tot of some alcoholic beverage and mints. This room was not en-suite , but you had a private bathroom down the hall and dressing gowns were provided. Breakfast was served around one large table and limited for the... more

A welcome respite after a long drive, previous reviews were justified. Well proportioned room with decent bathroom and comfortable bed. Superb location for access to ferry terminal. Breakfast was excellent - just the right amount and very tasty. Will definitely stay again. Be warned - the B&B is not in Stranraer as indicated on Google Maps, it is a farmhouse... more

The views were magnificent, the room was immaculate and bright (very well decorated) and we got a nice tipple too. It's was very scottish and... more

We stayed in the Log Cabin next to the main house and it was great for my mother who finds it difficult to manage stairs. We were warmly welcomed, the electric blankets made the beds toasty warm and the kitchen area was very well-equipped. In the morning, after a magnificent breakfast(veggie or traditional) we were only minutes away from the... more

We stayed in the cabins at Balyett, although there is a B&B there too. The cabin we stayed in had one big bedroom which would have slept 5/6 people. There was also a kitchen area and living room area. The cabin is minutes away from the ferry port at Stranraer, and very easy to find (its on the same road... more

I recently stayed at Balyett with my daughter and family. Lovely rooms en suite, just minutes from the town and the 2 ferry ports. Apart from the fabulous Scottish breakfasts the highlight of our stay was my grandson (5) being given the responsibility of letting the 5 ducks out in the morning and collecting the one egg! Highly recommended. more
