Starting with a welcome cup of coffee and cake, in the Guest lounge. The owner could not have been more helpful and friendly. The room was great as was the breakfast. I can recommend this B&B to anyone who is visiting the area

Very near the port of Cairnryan, Balyett couldn't have been handier when we came from the ferry. beautiful peaceful location. Pat made us feel very welcome, she took the time to chat in the evening when we returned from our meal in Stranraer. Our room was lovely with lots of lovely personal touches. Breakfast very good served by Pats' husband... More

We were booked in for an overnight stay at the end of our first day's walk on the Southern Upland way,and what a wonderful way to start this long "trek"! We were collected from a pickup point and returned the next morning. Our room was spacious, clean, and all amenities were first class. The lovely glassware and sherry have already been mentioned... We had an overnight stay here before taking the ferry to Ireland. Our room was very comfortable with good quality furnishings etc and an extremely comfortable bed!. The view over the loch was lovely! Nice touch too with the sherry decanter! Pat's warm personality was so welcoming and she was also helpful with suggesting eating places and provided us with... More

We wanted to stay in a comfortable quiet place before heading to Ireland--and Balyett was just that! Bill and Pat were the definition of Scottish hospitality and the full Scottish breakfast was absolutely delicious! We loved our stay and hope to one day go back!

I have stayed in Pat's B&B about half a dozen times as I have occasional work in the area. Each time I call it is like chatting to an old friend and have not yet failed to get a bed. The rooms are spotless and are presented in a pleasant manner, even down to the wee decanter of sherry! I... More

We were given a lovely welcome when we arrived. We had booked two rooms and both were beautiful with a great shower in my room (I didn't ask my daughter how hers was). As mentioned by other reviewers the attention to detail could not be faulted. The en suite had nice shampoo and body wash as well as a dressing... More

Having traveled all over Europe I found the Balyett of a very high Standard, And the attention to detail which made our stay there so special. Pat&Bill were the perfect hosts And couldn't do enough for you I could mark up to 10 but but I will give maximum marks, I would recommend the Balyett 100 percent.

Having travelled a lot both for business and pleasure we were blown away with our visit to Stranraer's Balyett B&B. The hosts treat you as if you are family and besides a beautiful location and view, the breakfast was sensational as was everything else. You really appreciate the love and thought that has gone into the lovely unexpected extras and... More
