Good hotel in need of a revamp. We paid extra for a lake view but overlooked the old car terminal instead. Staff helpful. Breakfast basic. Games room and swimming pool great on a wet day. Wifi worked when it felt like it.

I stayed here 20/8/15 - 21/8/15 you walk into reception trough a spinning door and yes as others say it dose kinda smell fusty but you soon get used to it and don't notice. The hotel is old and charming I loved it full of history. we had a family room wich was massive. It was very hot as above... More

This is not a castle in the Disney style but reminiscent of a bygone era when a trip to a coastal hotel was not only an opportunity to relax and renew, but one could dress up and go to a nice dinner at the hotel (though dressing up is not at all necessary). This is the first hotel established in... More

This hotel is on the water front with great views over the bay. It is full of the old world charm. Staff are excellent, very courteous and staff give every one the service from by gone years. The dinning room is very large and well presented. One of it's greatest attributes , the cost of the rooms. It was one... More

First stayed here in January this year and have since been back twice with another break end of October booked and also Christmas break booked. Yes this hotel is old fashioned but it traditional and welcoming which we like. We take our 3 dogs and 2 cats with us and there is no extra charge which is fantastic! Have stayed... More

This hotel is a bit like stepping back in time or visiting an old aunties. The décor can only be described as retro, but also comforting. This is a great hotel if you are not looking for modern facilities. The staff are welcoming and thoroughly professional from the moment you arrive, a real breath of fresh air to have such... More

We were a golfing party of 12 staying for 3nights, we had booked this independently and was well pleased withe price quoted they also recommended two golf courses which were excellent and included in price, the hotel is a bit dated, but the rooms were spacious and clean and with all the amenities you would expect and did not deter... We spent two nights at that this grand and traditional hotel primarily to visit the beautiful Mull of Galloway and enjoy the nearby scenery and coastline. The hotel was good value for money and our double room was well equipped. The service was very good and personal with a porter helping us with our baggage. The evening meal was very... More

we have stayed at North West Castle many times over the years and it is always a real treat. Lovely rooms, very civilised dining room and meals. I love the way the table cloth is brushed clean of crumbs after your main course! The food is excellent and coffee and tablet in the lounge afterwards. Really felt like we'd been... More

At first glance this place is a little stuck in the times - you do feel like Miss Marple may be sleuthing around as you drink in the Residents Lounge... However The room was big and comfortable, large bathroom etc. TV, Corby Trouser Press... the works ! Breakfast was grand!
