The food in this place is excellent. The décor could do with a bit of updating, a bit old fashioned but clean, the towels could have been proper luxury bath sheets instead of skimpy towels which were a bit worn. All in all the service was very good, staff very friendly, polite and attentive. The views are beautiful but a... More

After spending two beautiful sunny days in Portpatrick we were struggling to find something our family group of 12 aged 9 - 80yrs could enjoy in the rain. We googled Corsewall lighthouse and were all in agreement it sounded a lovely place to visit. How wrong could we be. After negotiating 9 miles of what could only be described as... More

The Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel was a huge disappointment. The views are lovely and the restaurant nice. The room was clean, the bed linens (under a dreadful spread) and towels were white (which I like), and we had everything we needed. However, the buildings and rooms need such a major upgrade that the hotel ought to close until that is done.... More

I find this a difficult report to write, I don't like knocking important local hotels but the service I received at the weekend was poor and very disappointing, the meal was excellent but unfortunately, rude service can't be put up with. I have eaten in the hotel several times and encouraged friends to visit and stay in the hotel, when... More

We are regular visitors to this excellent hotel which I suppose says it all!!! We visited on 1 June 2015 for 3 nights and occupied the Lighthouse Suite which caters for controlled dogs!! We arrived mid afternoon to a very warm welcome from Gill and later Kay. We swiftly settled into our Suite which boasts two smallish bedrooms, a very... More

My husband and I recently spent a long weekend for our first wedding anniversary. This experience was on our bucket list, so, needless to say we hoped it was going to be one we would remember for a long time. The hotel did not disapoint. From the moment we arrived in stranraer, the anticipation to see the lighthouse was one... More

Stayed for one night on bed, breakfast & evening meal. The location is novel and certainly something a bit different, beautiful scenery and right in the waters edge where you can watch the sea do it's best against the rocks. The service is first class through friendly staff and the food is cooked to perfection with a good choice to... More

This is our fourth visit & yet again we have had a wonderful stay at this unique off the beaten track hotel. The staff were friendly & welcoming & when it was raining they offered to pick us up from our suite. We stayed in the spacious Stevenson Suite, a short walk from the main hotel but worth it for... We have just enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at this delightful hotel. If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track with excellent wining and dining, this is the place for you. Pet friendly (our dog loved it - lots of places for him to roam around on this beautifully rugged coastline!), and outstanding views from our suite. Very... More

We arrived to a warm welcome from the receptionist. A champagne luncheon had been organised and it was fabulous. freshly made sandwiches, champagne followed by tea and coffee and the most gorgeous home made shortbread. Our bedroom on the ground floor was small but very comfortable and the other bedroom was up one and had the most fabulous views. Obviously... More
