We stayed at the Lakeview Guesthouse for two nights during particularly glorious weather for this part of Scotland. Both Elaine and Alan, our hosts, were pleasant, considerate and helpful making our stay very enjoyable indeed. The guesthouse is on quite a busy road but there was not a lot of traffic noise and opposite there was a rather delightful little... More

Friendly welcome throughout our stay, we had a twin bedroom with en-suite, whole room was small in size but enough to accommodate us for the 2 nights we were staying. Elaine and Alan had no problem with our son and daughter in law and grandson coming in on the Saturday to get changed for the wedding we were all attending... More

We love Stranraer, this our second visit to Elaine at the Lakeview, she is always welcoming, the rooms are nice and the breakfasts are lovely! Lovely location. Some nice easy walking here with nice views of Loch Ryan

The accommodation was exceptionally clean and the breakfast was excellent. The room we had was small with little room for storing clothes. It was OK for 2 nights but, if staying longer, it would not be appropriate. The location was great and the couple who run it are very friendly and helpful. We arrived earlier than expected but that was... More

This was a first class guest house. I had a single room that was en-suite. The room was spotless and very cosy with extremely good and spacious bathroom. The owners were friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The breakfast was also first class, served with a more than generous pot of tea and a wide choice of... More

I used this B & B either side of a ferry journey home to Northern Ireland. It was excellent! The lady was very friendly, the rooms were spotless both times I stayed. The breakfast was great quality and health. They are happy to accommodate late arrivals and early departures for ferry travellers.

Lovely bed and breakfast run by husband and wife team. The front of house is dealt with by the lady of the house. Lovely and friendly and nothing seemed to much trouble. I had the single room (room 2) which was lovely although a little small. It was only one night so that didn't matter that much. The shower wasn't... More

Lovely B and B room overlooking the water in Stranraer, with very friendly owners and delicious breakfasts. We were very pleased to have chosen Lakeview as our stopover before catching the ferry to Belfast. Excellent value for money, too.

Lakeview Guesthouse occupies a fabulous spot overlooking the waterfront and play park, with ample parking available. We simply wouldn't stay anywhere else, as Lakeview is one of the few places we've stayed that comfortably fits our family of five in, and provides a wonderful place to sleep. The beds are beyond comfortable, and were freshly turned on our second night,... More
