We were booked into Neptune's rest by a family member so we did not have the chance to pick our own accommodation. The rooms are spotless but unfortunately that is where the praise finishes. We brought our clothes on hangers but in room 1 there was no wardrobe to put them in, there is a hook on the back of... More

Nice big family room, very nice owner, good scottish breakfast, great location for catching ferry, playground across the street, would stay again and definitely recommend to others, easy street parking

On arrival I was given an exceptionally warm welcome. The room was comfortable, pleasantly furnished and spotlessly clean, I slept well and breakfast the following morning was very good indeed. There is a warmth and friendliness about the place that's very appealing, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Stranraer.

The welcome from Emma was excellent, and the premises were spotless. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and easily accessible wifi. The downside was the rooms, we had no's 1 and 3 and both were very small, making it impossible to fit in a wardrobe, so the hanging facilities were a hook on the back of the door, similarly... More

Staying for a business trip, and this place was just ideal. Had a last minute room change due to a cancellation meaning I could have a room with a view of the bay, which was very nice. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and couldn't do enough for you, was much appreciated. The rooms themselves were spotless, bright, airy and... More

Overnight stay while attending a function in Stranraer, with two other couples. Owner couldn't have been more helpful, giving us a pick of all the rooms and a very warm welcome. Breakfast was lovely, with top ups offered all round. The whole building was spotlessly clean, with lovely views of the loch.

I received a very warm welcome and comfortable 2 nights stay at Neptune's Rest and the hospitality received from Emma and Iain was fantastic! I will be sure to use this accommodation on my return to Stranraer in the New Year.

This is a great place to stay if you're travelling overseas and need to use the Ferry. The hosts were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, we really enjoyed our stay despite the heavy rain. David & Carol Wheatley - Nottingham
