Canny little bar and rooms. No cooked breakfast but had cereal and toast in room with a little breakfast bar, microwave, fridge and toaster. Quite a relaxing place right on the front by a park. Owners have a lovely dog, no bother.

We stayed here for 1 night the room was really spacious and clean loved the fact the breakfast was already in your room ie cereal toast with all the trimmings and juice yogurt in the fridge which is also in the room. Nice big television. Cosy bed. Now for the down side, We think the owner may have forgot to... More

The staff were very friendly and clearly well liked by the locals. Both the family room and the twin room were decorated beautifully, very clean, comfortable and warm. The shower was lovely and easy to work as was everything else in the room. We were very pleased to have a small breakfast bar in both rooms which had a toaster... More

Stayed for three nights over the new year period. Our host was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean and warm, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was as advertised, which suited as a lie in was needed after the hogmanay celebration. Will return to Stranraer and will certainly return to the swan.

Like a previous reviewer, if I hadn't pre-paid, I'd've left...it was without exception, the worst place I have ever stayed! Access to the room was via a dirty smelly corridor past the pub loos, then up a metal fire escape! The room was freezing and not particularly clean, especially the shower (I looked in the empty room next door and... More

We stayed here before setting off to Belfast. I'd pre-paid on booking.com which is a shame, as my wife burst into tears as soon as we alone in our room, otherwise we would have left straight away. Probably should have done anyway. For breakfast we were given a supermarket bag which contained a loaf of bread-says it all really. This... More

We booked the family room for one night, and although I was a little worried by some of the reviews I had read, I was so wrong. The room was lovely, clean and with everything you need, but the hospitality shown by Lisa and her husband was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was what you pay for... More

The Swan Inn is a delightful family run business and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting a safe, clean accomodation. Recent stay for one night was wonderful. Clean room, breakfast provided, and the host and his wife were top notch in looking after our needs. We had a wonderful evening at the pub downstairs and were entertained... More

Booked to stay to as I was playing in the bar downstairs with my band Scruffy Buzzards. Really impressed with the level of comfort and the fact that everything was provided to make your own continental breakfast (including fresh milk) at a convenient time rather than having to wait until the kitchen opens. The hospitality was excellent and the music... More

Our stay was short but comfortable. After travelling for some time it was good to have everything at hand to make our own breakfast at a time of our choosing. A bowl of fresh fruit, croissants, a loaf of bread and toaster with milk, yoghurt, cereal, porridge and spreads provided all that was needed. Access to the rooms from a... More
