Visiting here for a night as we see our family in Stranrear. The beds are very comfortable, the house is absolutely beautiful and the breakfast is not only sizeable but very delicious! Marilyn, the owner, is also lovely and nothing is too much trouble! Fantastic place and I'm sure we will be back soon :)

We stayed here for the night before catching the ferry to Belfast en route to Donegal. It was altogether very comfortable. The house has been interestingly furnished in a style that reflects its origins as a Victorian manse. Our large bedroom and bathroom were quite magnificent. The breakfast table was splendid with very generous amounts of fresh fruit, home-baked bread,... More

This is an exceptional B&B in a caringly restored manse with great attention to period detail. The rooms are very comfortable, interesting, clean and with free wifi. The hosts are welcoming and helpful and there is an outstanding breakfast complete with linen napkins.

We first visited the Old Manse 5 years ago and we were keen to return. Marilyn and Bill made us so welcome again and our room was magnificent. It is beautifully furnished and comfortable to relax in, with a large area for comfy chairs in the room. Marilyn produced an excellent breakfast and we will certainly be back, hopefully a... More

Whenever we travel to Ireland a stay at the Old Manse kicks off the holiday to a great start. Beautiful olde world charm to everything with comfortable beds and fantastic breakfast that compares with any 5 star hotel! Marilyn is a wonderful host.

A pleasant one night stay at this wonderful victorian guesthouse. We felt as going back in time during our short stay. The family room we got was very spacious and full of natural light, the bathroom is special, typical of days gone by. Perfect stay and very affordable. We enjoyed talking to the hosts and were very glad to give... More

Bill and Marilyn Burns are the most welcoming couple , we felt immediately at home in this beautiful house . The room we had was huge and the bathroom was fab with a bath and separate shower. I would recommend a stay to anyone visiting Stranraer as its only a short walk to the town center and there is a... More

Situated on an unassuming road this old Victorian property holds a wealth of delights. The host, Marylyn is welcoming and flexible. What time did we want breakfast? All this for £50 an night for tow people! We had the room at the front with a double and two single beds. The double bed was sooooooo comfy as were the pillows,... More
