Our recent stay in Stranraer was fabulous, this was due to the warm welcome we received when we arrived at The Old Manse. The house is wonderful full of lovely old original features. Everything was spotlessly clean and the service was second to none. The food was wonderful, all carefully prepared, the best breakfast ever! Nothing was too much trouble... More

Stayed here one night on a cycle touring holiday. Marilyn kindly let us drop off our panniers early in the morning and had arranged for us to stay the previous night at Fernlea next door as she was full up. Bike storage not a problem - just bring them in the house! The house is beautifully furnished and decorated in... More

We have never been more delightfully surprised by am overnight stay than at The Old Manse B&B - right from the start when we were warmly welcomed and settled in to our spacious and comfortable bedroom, our stay was a fine experience. Best breakfast in Scotland, I would say, carefully cooked and from a very wide choice of ingredients -... More

My pal and I arrived in Stranraer by mistake a day early for a concert (the date had been changed but the change never reached the D&G Council website!) and our room was booked up for the next night. Marilyn and Bill saved the day by giving us a second night in another room free of charge!! The accommodation was... More

My family and I have just returned to "The Old Manse" for a weekend stay in the lovely town of Stranraer. We were greeted like old friends and made to feel very welcome. Our rooms were beautifully furnished and the beds were so comfortable~ the best night's sleep I've had in ages! We had a superb breakfast served in the... More

Wonderfully appointed B&B situated a few minutes from the Town Centre. Easy to find & Parking is reasonably straightforward - access being from a Road to the rear of the property. The House is brilliantly furnished in period decor etc & was really like stepping back in time. We had a huge room, with lots of space & were really... More

We stayed at The Old Manse for one night and were blown away by the kindness of the owners and the amazing period interior of the house. Superb breakfast too. We would definitely make the trip back up to Stranraer again to stay here!

The Old Manse B&B only has two guest bedrooms but both are family rooms with loads of space, so much space in our room it felt like a suite. The bathroom is not on-suite but is along the landing and is also very large. We couldn't have felt more welcome, everything is very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was... More

Stayed just the one night before we got the ferry to Belfast and it was brilliant, lovely big family room our spaniel in with us, very friendly hosts who allowed us in early as we arrived much sooner than expected and a very hearty breakfast cooked to order! Excellent value for money as well, brilliant!
