Just returned from a two night stay here. A very lively pub and good food but the room was pretty dire and not cheap at that. We were given a 'sea view' which amounted to being up in the loft space in a room so small that we banged our head of the sloping roof when trying to get from... More

Ate in the bar. Lovely mussels in a creamy sauce followed by sea bass fillets (3 large pieces) accompanied by fresh veggies - very good food. Pub was lively and the staff very efficient and friendly. Large menu selection available. Worth a visit.

As a regular visitor to the Rhins area of Dumfries and Galloway we have dined at the Crown Hotel on many occasions, a lovely welcoming pub with great food and the added attraction of entertainment at the weekends.

We have just stayed for one week as a family of seven in a local rental property Catevennan. We called at the pub and sat outside for a few hours most afternoons as the weather was glorious. We had our pup with us and she too was made most welcome. On our last day (27 August 15) the weather changed... More

We had lunch here and sat outside by the harbour. This is obviously a popular pub and was well patronised. Having said that the food arrived in good time and was cooked well. loved the selection of seafood available. Friendly staff and good location by the water

Visited Portpatrick for the RNLI weekend and this was the pub of choice for the weekend. Great beer (two handpumps serving real ale) and atmosphere, with the live music on Saturday night a particular highlight. It's quite cramped inside when it's busy though as it's very "olde world" with lots of nooks and crannys. Well worth a visit if you're... More

A day trip to Portpatrick and decided to choose the Crown Hotel for lunch. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and came quite healthy with veg and potatoes and plentiful. Will definitely be back.

As a member of my local fishing club we do a yearly trip away to fish different areas, this year we decided on Port Patrick aboard Predator 2. We booked in for three nights B and B and arrived to a very warm welcome and a lovely pint of cask real ale. Staff were very friendly and always willing to... More

The steaks are the best I have come across. The coffee is not very nice but over all a very nice place to visit with very good staff . The views onto the sea are beautiful. Parking is just along from hotel.
