Stayed for a special winter package £99.00 for three nights DBB , 4th night free. The food is excellent, we even ate there on our last night when we were only booked for B@B. The hotel was very busy and the atmosphere was wonderful. Candleit meals each night with a roaring fire in the bar. We have re-booked. It seems... more
After much searching for the perfect place for our wedding we settled on Portpatrick. Looking around we decided that of of the many available venues in the village that the Mount Stewart Hotel was the most suitable for us. It's only small with 8 rooms (and we rented them all) but the accomodation was of a high standard and the... more
Just returned from a two night stay at this excellent small hotel. Location in the village is ideal, a stones throw from the centre but away from the crowds and with breathtaking views. Staff are very friendly and food is excellent and reasonably priced. Room was a little dated but spotlessly clean. Overall, for the money, hard to beat. more
My husband and i drove up from Bolton on a sunny Sunday morning at 9am, just after our daughter had gone to spain for a week with her school, so here was our chance of having a few days on our own in a wonderful part of Scotland, where we wanted a clean hotel, with excellent food, friendly owners and... more
The wife and I went to the Mount Stewart after reading the glowing reviews posted here, and found the Hotel pretty much as described. We arrived on a damp Friday, and were booked into a clean comfortable family room with a great view of the village and across to Northern Ireland( quite strange seeing those lights on the horizon at... more
If you are considering Portpatrick as a destination for a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of modern life then you have chosen well and I would certainly recommend Portpatrick and the Mount Stewart Hotel (a converted large Victorian House) which is perfectly situated within the village but away from the traffic and boasts the most stunning sea... more

Owners very welcoming and are planning to upgrade hotel further during the winter. A really good atmposphere. candlelit tables every night, very romantic, good value DBB £49.00 pp.Only set back is... more
The Mount Stewart could bean excellent hotel - with a bit of investment and customer focus. However I would avoid going back there unless the other hotels in the area are full. Check-in time is before 6pm, not very good if you are touring and lible to arrive late. There doesn't seem to be any reason for this as the... more
This is a very strange place to review. The views are stunning and could not be bettered. The food is excellent. The staff were very young and very friendly but did not seem to know anything about the set menu that residents could opt for at meal times despite there being a sign in reception about it! We could still... more
