For our first visit to Port Patrick this hotel was "First Class". Despite a shaky start with a puncture on the M77 we had a faultless stay at the Fernhill Hotel. Meals were of finest quality and staff were very attentive and the younger staff were obviously trained to a high standard, well done to all. I cannot praise this... More

We went there for a special night out. Although my past experience with this hotel was abyssmal, I was willing to try again. No improvement. The staff were surly, service slow, and the food unremarkable. At the end of the meal, we wanted a pot of tea. Eventually, after a long wait, the teapot arrived full of hot water. What... More

There is no room service, which you would hope for in a large hotel these days. Furnishings and fittings all rather dated and worn. It is clean though and the views of the harbour are pleasant. Rather expensive for what it is at £90/person for B&B. Garden, likewise, needs some tlc. We are in the 1990's wing. I suspect that... More

Stayed here for three nights late August with my sister. Perfect location with beautiful views of harbour. Staff very welcoming and helpful = food delicious and varied.. Lovely to stay in a privately owned establishment where the staff care about the continued success of the business. Great base for visiting lovely gardens and castles and a golfer's perfect hotel.

Booked a room here two weeks ago and specifically asked for a room in the main old part of the hotel. On arrival discovered it was actually in what is undoubtedly an annexe to original building. The lady on the phone had assured me the room was in the main building. It was not. The lady who greeted us on... More

Staying here as a romantic treat from my partner. Stayed in room 15 - nothing short of stunning including a roll top bath - what a delight! Quite stunning views across the harbour - we could have sat and looked out all day. Wee complimentary sherry when we arrived and fabulous service throughout. We have stayed here before and recognised... More

We went to the Fernside Hotel for a weekend with our son and daughter - in- law. Our rooms were large and comfortable, with armchairs at the window overlooking the harbour and out to sea. Decor could do with a revamp but not a big issue. The food at dinner and breakfast was superb, and the vegetarian had her own... More

VisitedPort Patrick with three of my colleagues, part of a last minute affair as I replaced someone who became ill and couldn't attend, the week Monday to Friday was part of a golf package, the hotel has a number of themed stays, the rooms are very comfortable with everything needed for a pleasant stay, however the food was the gem... My wife and I had a four night stay at the Fernhill and were more than pleased with everything. We had a warm welcome with a glass of sherry, a fantastic room and wonderful food and service throughout. The view of Portpatrick Harbour from the hotel is stunning!

We had stayed here before. The hotel has all amenities and a fine location above the harbour of this beautiful village. The food was excellent and very good value. The dining room is a conservatory at the side of the hotel offering excellent views out to see. The dining staff were all very attentive intelligent young people, students mainly who... More
