Just spent two nights at the Fernhill Hotel. Fantastic setting overlooking the harbour, rooms large , very clean and with superb views. The restaurant was very good and the staff efficient. Second time staying at Hotel, this time with our teenage daughter. Hotel kindly sorted out adjacent rooms for us. Had rooms with balcony's overlooking the port, and as the weather was fantastic, it was very relaxing and enjoyable. Everywhere spotlessly clean, and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Spent a most enjoyable three days on dinner, bed and breakfast. We were looking to explore this neglected corner of Scotland and to have a relaxing break. The Fernhill is ideal for these aims and for golfers, anglers, twitchers, walkers etc. Most impressed by the happy atmosphere and the friendly staff. Not cheap, but well worth a visit. more

We stayed at The Fernhill this week and it was absolutely lovely. The staff are very welcoming and efficient and make time to chat and exchange pleasantries. The hotel has great views of the village, the harbour and out across the Irish sea to Ireland. The staff were all helpful and friendly.
