We spent a very enjoyable weekend here in August. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room, The Hannay, was extremely comfortable, with a view of the sea, and a huge bathroom. The food was excellent, and the service was very good. This is a lovely hotel in a great location. It is certainly one of our favourites, and... More

Stayed for two nights, the staff are truly wonderful and have customer service to a tee. The location is so relaxing and idyllic and the whole ambience is marvellous. The food is so worthy of the Michelin star and we had two fabulous dinners and breakfasts. Could not praise the hotel enough and just wished we lived locally so we... More

For my sixtieth birthday my husband and I spent four wonderful days at Knockinaam Lodge, Portpatrick. After driving through some wonderful countryside we came over a hill and found the hotel set in its beautiful grounds, with its own private beach beyond. It is a haven for anyone wanting tranquillity and fresh sea air. We were greeted warmly with tea... More

We have just returned from a 3 day stay in this fabulous hotel . We booked at the last minute and stayed in Pond . Lovely spacious room with a huge bathroom .(took other guests to see it!) warm welcome on arrival and tea and coffee with shortbread in the lounge. Beautiful setting ,private beach and immaculate gardens. The dinners... More

Visited here with my mum for lunch. Cannot fault this place in the slightest. We were looked after from the minute we stepped in the door. Food was to die for and the service was perfect. Knockinaam Lodge itself is beautiful with a lovely home feeling. Will definitely be back.

We didn't stay at the hotel but had dinner to celebrate my brother-in-laws 70th birthday! We knew it was a set menue with no choice albeit when we arrived we were told that if there was anything on the menu we didn't like to let them know. We liked everything! £65 for dinner is not cheap, but it is for... More

We had our second stay here. Knockinaam is on the way to nowhere( though quite convenient before or after the ferry to/from Belfast). It is such a wonderful place I would be prepared to travel from hundreds of miles away to stay here. This is especially true for dog owners- few such lovely places have rooms which take dogs. The... Stayed in Bachelor last week. The perfect relaxing start to a holiday. This must be about our 4th time at Knockinaam and each stay has been wonderful. The views, the food, the welcome are all just perfect. It feels like your very own country house. It is a perfect stop over en route to NI. I only wish we could... More

We stayed here for one night to celebrate our anniversary. The view of private beach is stunning and what a relaxing time we had. We stayed in the Hannay room and the view was beautiful. The room was spacious with separate lounge part with a comfortable couch and flatscreen TV. The bathroom was stunning with fab shower and stand alone... More

excellent food[the chef has a michelin star] with a great staff in a converted country house right on the irish sea. pleasant and comfortable sitting rooms and bar that encourage conversation with other guests.good bed in a small bedroom[they come in different sizes and rates, of course]. minuses: we thought it was a weak wine list[we had a 2012 albarino...
