We didn't stay at the hotel but had dinner to celebrate my brother-in-laws 70th birthday! We knew it was a set menue with no choice albeit when we arrived we were told that if there was anything on the menu we didn't like to let them know. We liked everything! £65 for dinner is not cheap, but it is for... More

We had our second stay here. Knockinaam is on the way to nowhere( though quite convenient before or after the ferry to/from Belfast). It is such a wonderful place I would be prepared to travel from hundreds of miles away to stay here. This is especially true for dog owners- few such lovely places have rooms which take dogs. The... Stayed in Bachelor last week. The perfect relaxing start to a holiday. This must be about our 4th time at Knockinaam and each stay has been wonderful. The views, the food, the welcome are all just perfect. It feels like your very own country house. It is a perfect stop over en route to NI. I only wish we could... More

We stayed here for one night to celebrate our anniversary. The view of private beach is stunning and what a relaxing time we had. We stayed in the Hannay room and the view was beautiful. The room was spacious with separate lounge part with a comfortable couch and flatscreen TV. The bathroom was stunning with fab shower and stand alone... More

excellent food[the chef has a michelin star] with a great staff in a converted country house right on the irish sea. pleasant and comfortable sitting rooms and bar that encourage conversation with other guests.good bed in a small bedroom[they come in different sizes and rates, of course]. minuses: we thought it was a weak wine list[we had a 2012 albarino... This is our second visit to this wonderful hotel - I was nervous as could it really be as good second time round? It was. It has such a unique location in a little bay with a private beach - so romantic and quiet. Our room was lovely and I could sit on the bed and look out to sea... More

It was such a pleasant experience to drive down into Knockinaam last Sunday on a glorious afternoon. The sea shimmered and the gardens looked at their best. The house itself looked well maintained and very inviting. We were not disappointed. Beautiful room looking out to the sea. Well appointed and so unlike the large, clinical chains which now proliferate. Drinks... More

Beautiful location. Well appointed public rooms. We stayed in The Pond Room which was a good room with an amazing bathroom. Dinner was delicious and an experience rather than a meal. Every course was well presented. I am no connoisseur of fine dining and do not like over pretentious dining, but this was pitched at exactly the right note, excellent... More

I simply cannot fault Knockinaam - we arrived on a stormy day, but the welcome was warm and friendly, and the hotel cosy. Our room (Hannay) was lovely, with a welcome window seat from where to watch the sea, a lovely bathroom and a cosy sitting area. I cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough for a wonderful couple... Had Sunday lunch in this beautiful old lodge. The location and private beach are very special and from reading about the lodge it has had some very interesting historical visitors! The food was absolutely beautiful and the service superb. It was a little expensive (£200 for 4 people) but worth it. The wine list was also excellent and there were... More
