Although my very tall hubby had some bother with head room we had a lovely stay, the hotel was quiet until you went into the bar and there were the locals. We essentially used the Downshire Arms as a place to stop before getting the Stranraer to Belfast Ferry the next day. Portpatrick is about five or six miles from the ferry port of Stranraer.
