I stayed here in 2003 and loved my stay. I gave the barmaid a gold watch as I was so pleased. I recommend this hotel to everyone. It is close to the harbour and has great sea views. I will definitly be going back with my new wife soon.

Stayed here while working in Stranraer. The only fault with the room was the shower/bath water pressure was very poor aprt from that it was clean & very spacious. The bar has all the live sports a man needs with plenty choices of drinks & a very freindly bar maid, a very wide choice of food on the menu &... More

We made the hotel bar our local while we were staying in a cottage in Portpatrick for christmas. Friendly staff, friendly regulars and is open late! What more could you want! We didn't try the food, but the menu looked good, so when we go back (which we will!) we'll make sure we eat there too.

Me and the mrs returned to the upstairs restuarant in the downshire hotel. We had stayed here 5 years ago when we first discovered the charms of Portpatrick. The restaurant has been given an overhaul and it looked great. Clean and warm, the lighting just right and the volume of the music spot on too. The menu comprises of typical... More

Had a bar lunch and a couple of drinks after a 7 mile walk. Very good food and good beer served by a friendly waitress. There is a good selection of single malts too. A real fire too. What more do you want!

This is a barely average hotel in an excellent location. The mattresses in our room are long past overdue replacement. The restaurant needs staff with a bit more customer friendly training. (Breakfast staff were fine.). Breakfast itself was good. The three star rating is generous however and the price paid, £89 is too much for this standard of accommodation. The... More

We stayed here for 3 nights last weekend, for my mates 50th. The hotel cost was great value for money, and included 2 rounds of golf. Rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. The food , breakfast and dinner is top class, and plenty of it. The bar is well priced and very friendly, good entertainment. I think a... More

Hotel staff great, very friendly and efficient. Food first class and great value. Bar has great atmosphere with friendly staff and patrons. Port Patrick is beautiful. Rooms need a little TLC but would be happy to stay again as we had a great time.
