We ate here after staying up the road in Rockcliffe. The steak I had had to be the best ever steak I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for value for money. We had 2 drinks, 2 main meals and 2 deserts for less than £40! Thank you... More

We were not staying at Clonyard, but the restaurant offered a great venue for a celebration meal for 13 of us. Brilliant meal; good selection of dishes to suit all tastes; good value; well presented; friendly staff & good service; amenable to special dietary requirements. Thoroughly enjoyed. Would certainly recommend the Clonyard as an excellent place to dine.

We have just returned from an overnight break at the Clonyard House. It has lots of character, our room was in the annexe, which was a good size, clean, warm and comfortable. It also had it's own sitting out area which we didn't use due to the time of year. However it was great for taking the dog out for... More

Stayed two nights, ate in the hotel both lunch and dinner times. Food was exellent with good service from both bar and waiting staff. Rooms were cosy, comfortable, clean and en-suite. I would recommend the Clonyard to familys, couples, and older people, great service, lovely grounds! The locals are friendly, down to earth, and included us willingly into the group... More

We ate here on a wet February evening. We knew about it having been along time ago, but is easily missed as it is concealed by lots of trees and the hotel itself cannot be seen from the road - but there is a sign. This may put passers by off as it is nice to see where you are... More

This privately owned hotel has loads of character, the main house is beautiful and the bedrooms delightful, the bedrooms in the annex were less so, but were clean and warm with excellent en-suite. Food was excellent and cooked to order and breakfast was served with a smile. We were part of a large party for the new year celebrations and... More

Revenge Steaks ( Revenge is a dish best served cold ) My wife and I dined at Clonyard House Hotel on Thursday 28th November 2013 The ambience was good; the wine was good; the chips were absolutely fabulous, but the sirloin steaks were cold, my medium rare was raw, the grilled tomato was stone cold, and the mushrooms tasted as... The Clonyard is not an anonymous bland chain hotel. It is privately owned and quirky with loads of character. The main house is very attractive and most of the bedrooms are in an annexe with the benefit of a lovely peaceful green aspect and a patio and chairs outside each room. The breakfast offers a lot of choice including haggis... More

Just arrived back from a long weekend at the Clonyard with 4 other couples. We were the last to arrive (8:00pm) and didn't have to wait to long to book in. Our room was 16, which was as far away from the bar/reception/dining area as could be, and joked all evening that we would have to get up at 6... More

This was the first time for 14 years that we have visited the area and we stayed for just 1 night on our way further North in Scotland. We thought the hotel needed a lot of TLC - the resident areas and rooms looked like they had been fitted and decorated very hastily, carpets crawling up the skirting boards or... More
