We ( family of 5) stayed at the Inn cottage for a week and loved it. Cottage was spotless and had a few nice touches like fresh fruit and flowers. The Inn next door served fantastic food which was well priced and the owner and staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I'd definitely go back. Muckhart itself was lovely and... More

Decor a bit dull and old fashioned. When it's cold the fires are roaring and it's so cosy if you nab a seat beside them. Staff are friendly enough but constantly a new face every time we go. Menu is pretty uninspiring also. Roast beef is a firm favourite although the Yorkshire puddings used to be amazing, so big and... More

Several retired old men (including me) meet up monthly; go for a walk somewhere in southern Scotland and then go to a local hostelry for lunch. We had intended going to a different restaurant .. simply as it was closer to where we had planned our walk .. but, whilst that pub was open, it didn't serve lunches on Thursdays... More

We have visited a few times in the last year for lunch. The food has always been of a high standard and staff have always been friendly and helpful. We take our kids who are 3 and 1 which has never been a problem even when it was busy. Food for us all and drinks - £29! Really nice atmosphere... More

I have been to many pubs around the world and have to say that this is the best by far, anywhere in the world, that I have been. A micro-brewery serving good ale, good accommodation, and food of a very high standard? Who could ask or want anything better? You can't because it doesn't exist. This is my second year... More

Ate here several evenings, also lunchtime. The lunchtime special of smoked haddock chowder was absolutely outstanding. The evening menu is substantially fixed (pretty standard pub fare, including range of steaks) with different daily specials. Favourites were macaroni cheese (oddly served with either potatoes or chips - could you cram in more carbohydrate?) and the first class battered fish (the chips... More

On a wet and windy Sunday afternoon we decided to go to Muckhart Inn for lunch and a few real ales. We has been here several times in previous year and it was a lovely, cosy pub with good food and real ale. However, our recent visit left us extremely disappointed. The food was not up to much, pretty bog... More

Saturday night and looking for a nice meal on the way back from St Andrews. Have not been here for many years and expected the Inn to be busy and it was, However, we were able to get a nice table for two and enjoyed an excellent steak with chips and trimmings for under £13. Steak was at least 10oz... More

Took my parents here Sat 28/3/15. Bar staff were very smart and welcoming- we all had fish and chips which was the best I've had in a long time,. Good choice on the menu and great atmosphere. This is a nice area and place has plent parking, would definitely return

This is the first time in a number of years that we have been in the Muckhart Inn and I can thoroughly recommend it. The Inn is cosy and warm and the staff very efficient and welcoming. The menu was varied and judging by the portions that were being brought from the kitchens the servings to all customers were generous... More
