A small coaching in overlooking the Green in St Boswells on the A 68. Close to Melrose, Kelso and other Borders towns. Near Abbotsford House. We went for two nights to celebrate a birthday. The hotel is the Inn of the Year. It has been modernised and offers very pleasant accommodation. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. You can... More

Booked an unexpected stay. Booking process a pleasure with Denise, We really didn't expect it to be so good. Special mention to Laura, very friendly girl in bar/bistro. The room, dinner, ambience were all fantastic. Something different on menu from the usual for breakfast and all served, and managed very well, by a friendly waitress. Just the special touches of... Happened to be in St Boswells (car in garage for MOT) and it was bitterly cold. Popped into Buccleugh Arms for lunch. First visit there but it will not be the last. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff, great food. All in all a very good experience.

Booked a one night B & B stay ITISON deal as a January blues treat. Could not have been better. Have noticed this place many times on the way over the border so was great to get the chance to check it out. Dinner in the Bloo Coo Bistrot was fantastic one of the most imaginative and different menus I've... More

We stayed for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year as an offer from Travelbird. The food was delicious and plentiful, the haggis bon bons were wonderful. Our room was pleasant, though the bathroom a little dated. It was warm and cosy and given what we paid we have absolutely no complaints and would definitely stay there again if heading... More

We were staying nearby and came in for lunch. We both had a lightly salmon risotto dish served with samphire.....WOW. This was the best risotto we have ever had and the salmon was cooked perfectly. It's a busy place that is obviously popular and we have told many people about how much we enjoyed the dish. The owner was a... More

After a visit to Jedburgh Abbey we decided to go to known hostelry for lunch - and we were not disappointed. The Buccleugh always offers a warm reception from familiar, experienced staff. The food choice was wide, the quality was excellent and the presentation was perfect. The wine list is very broad. As ever the atmosphere was vibrant - small... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. You cannot fault the bar or the food which was of an excellent standard, all 3 nights. Breakfast staff also accomodated a request for something not on the menu. However the bistro lacks character and atmosphere and is more a breakfast room than somewhere you would have an evening meal. The bedrooms are tidy... More

I have had two gorgeous meals at the Buccleuch in recent days. The chicken dish with haggis bon bons was amazing and really great value for money (I actually couldn't finish my portion!) On Monday night I had two of the specials- mussels to start and what was meant to be seabream for a main course. I'd normally only go... More

The food is excellent and the beds are probably the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The owner was onsite 4 of the 5 nights I stayed, however, he never once approached me to see if I was enjoying my stay! Shower heads in the bathrooms should be replaced because they... More
