Having recently joined trip adviser I thought I would leave reviews on the hotels I have stayed in in the last coulple of months .I read some of the other reviews for The Buccleuch and while most were positive I was amazed at the 2 most recent entries. I don't think these people can have stayed in the same hotel as me as my experience was so different. My husband and I attended a function for 80 people in The Salmon Room (which I thought was a very smart and comfortable room and bar) and decided to stay the night after the event . From begining to end I couldn't criticize any aspect of this establishment. We had a warm welcome and were shown to a very nice room which ,although overlooking the road, was very quiet . The function was excellent ; very good canapes followed by a delicious 4 course dinner which included a starter of 3 types of locally caught and smoked fish , a main course of gorgeous roast rib of beef ( no mean feat to get beef perfect for so many people) ,cheeses in... more
