This is a small restaurant with rooms, just 6 rooms I think it is family run by a husband and wife Lawson and Lesley. The rooms were spotless as was the rest of the accommodation, no parking on site but relatively easy on street parking. The food offered was as you would expect in a fishing town mainly seafood and... More

We had originally planned to stay in another hotel in a different town, until I checked the reviews and cancelled it in favour of churches. After my stay I am glad I made the change. The location is fantastic easy to find and easy free parking opposite the premises. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, the B&B is well... More

We stayed here 12 years ago and remembered having a great time, so when we were looking for somewhere for a weekend break decided to have a second visit. I'm so pleased we did. Churches has a unique feel to it. Its private and intimate but not at all formal. Lawson and Lesley are perfect hosts with the right amount... More

Stumbled across this wonderful accommodation by chance. Thank goodness! From the moment we walked into the Reception and met Lesley and Lawson Wood the current owners, we knew that our stay would be quite simply, excellent. The decor throughout reflected the attention to detail that the owners have shown in creating this "restaurant with rooms". Subtle choice of colour schemes... More

We arrived at Churches on our way down from the Highlands heading home. It's a lovely hotel, and the owners were lovely, friendly people! Our room overlooked the harbour as I had previously read a review about this room, I had to book it! The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished to a high standard. The little extras in the... My partner and I stumbled across this hotel in a last ditch attempt to find a place to stay on a Saturday evening after going to over 10 other guest houses between Alnwick and the border - boy am I happy the others were full! Clean, quality rooms with modern decor along with hosts that even managed to squeeze us... More

Stayed overnight on way to edinburgh festival and just had the best time. Whole property very tastefully furnished with great eye for detail. Super friendly welcome from Lawson -almost like old friends. Lovely room with space and comfortable bed meant a good night's sleep. Lounge for pre-dinner drink was again very well done out with lots of objects to add... More

We stayed on Saturday night for our wedding anniversary. The room was superb, very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. As some of the other guests hadn't checked in yet, we were encouraged to take a look at the other rooms and all of them were furnished in a unique style and to a very high standard. We had booked a... More

I have a cottage near by and often have friends to visit from all over the world. This has to be the very best place to take them for a seafood dinner. A wondrful selection of perfectly cooked dishes, fantastic desserts and a lovely restaurant. Our meal with Shetland cousins last night was just fantastic. Our visitors know great seafood... More

No pressure Liz! Many, many thanks to both you and Ian for the great review and your regular custom. It is very rewarding to cook the freshest seafood for all of the guests who visit us and who understand and appreciate what we do. I try to change the menu as often as possible, often working on a day to... More
