We are a family of 4. Two adults and two teenagers. We visited here on Monday evening, 25th August. We were travelling back to Newcastle from Edinburgh. We noticed the signs to this place on the A1. We walked in at about 6pm. The bar was silent! The lady on the bar (owner or manager maybe?) was friendly enough but... More

After visiting the beautyful coastal path at the seaside we (1 adult + 13 year old son) stayed at the Craw Inn for one night. Service, room, food and breakfast were great! Dinner as well as evening talks with the host and the local inhabitants were a delight. Highliy recommendable!

Stopped here on a quiet day at the start of the holidays - was looking for somewhere just off the A1 and this fit the bill. Very nice home made soup and baguette with Brie and cranberry. Pleasant service in peaceful surroundings.

I think something must have changed since the earlier reviews. Dinner here tonight was poor, very few other diners apart from us and just the one barman on duty. One of my companions was very unimpressed with the chips: I had a burger which was very disappointing. I think most of the food was bought in from a cheap supplier... More

This seemed a very different hotel to the glowing reviews. We had asked for a room with twin beds and were given one with a double and a very elderly bed settee. The decor is very tired indeed. The room was over the bar which was open till midnight and still talking at 12.20 so no chance of sleep till... More

We had heard rave reviews about this place, but when we visited between Christmas and New Year, it was a great disappointment. My husband ordered the chilli and the portion was small for a price tag of £9.95. There was no bread, garlic or otherwise with it. I had the scampi which was ok. The service was pleasant enough, but... More

Didn't stay but visited as we have family in Berwick. All four of us had food, beer battered fish was light and tasty, Lamb Navarin very tasty. Good choice of local and further afield real ales and inexpensive. We were welcomed instantly and the service was excellent. I was very pleasantly surprised by our visit and the ladies loo is...
