I cannot say enough about Dun's Castle, and our very gracious hosts, Mr. And Mrs. Hay. My husband and I were part of a group of artists, photographers, and filmmakers; all of whom had the privilege of staying, and soaking in all of the luxury the castle had to offer, for six nights. As a group of experienced travellers, we... More

A truly spectacular and unique location, with very friendly and accommodating owners. A great location for that special occasion in the wonderful Borders of Scotland. Surrounded by spectacular scenery wherever you go. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My family and I celebrated New Year at Cedar Cottage. It was lovely and clean very spacious and in a beautiful setting. Would recommend going there. The only negative I would say is that it is not well signposted. 28/12/14 - 4/1/15

I work for a construction company and make bookings on the operatives behalf. I have made several different bookings with the owner and the helpful heather and on every single occasion they have been more than happy to help and accommodate the director and operatives. The TV was faulty on the first stay so mrs hay the owner asked an... More

We had a great stay in Cedar Cottage. The cottage was much more spacious that we had expected and well equipped. There were 7 of us (family of 6 plus my brother) and we fitted well. Some great walks plus tennis on site and lots to see and do locally: a great family holiday.

Our kids were blown away! A really authentic castle: old, medieval ambience and beautiful but with modern rooms and fantastic hospitality. Me and Mrs Hay were great hosts. We would definitely recommend this for a once-in-a-lifetime castle stay!

This is the castle you imagined. Old, authentic, and quite medieval - but still has all the stuff we expect in 2013, like hot water and comfortable rooms. Mr and Mrs Hay were fantastic hosts. Our kids were absolutely blown away by the whole experience. It's not cheap but we loved it so it was a once in a lifetime... More

Fantastic, authentic "Scottish Castle" experience..... An overnight or a few days at Duns Castle is a simply wonderful experience. I stayed a night there a few days ago.....the exterior "looks" exactly how a castle SHOULD look - that's because that's exactly what it is - a castle with origins back to the 1100s that has been lived in by the... We hired a cottage on the estate for my friend's 30th birthday, and what a great location. You're out of the way in beautiful countryside, and can have a long walk around the estate, and the lovely lake,so you feel like you're miles away when you're actually only a pleasant 15 minute walk from the great pubs, shops and restaurants... A stay at Duns Castle was the highlight of our visit to Scotland. Aline and Aleck Hay welcomed our large group into their home and castle, parts of which date back to the era of King Robert the Bruce. The three generations of Hays currently residing there are surrounded by centuries of family and Scottish history, including many amazing paintings... More
