Stayed on our 4th night of West Highland Way, Tyndrum is a crossing point and its like one big Petrol Station car park, although the famous Green Welly shop does have its plus points! The Lodge Hotel is very basic, the rooms are old fashioned and in need of refurbishment. Our radiator would not turn off of have a lower... more

We recently stayed for one night sharing a triple room. The cost was grossly overpriced at £90, the hotel is in need of redecoration, the staff are rude, the rooms are filthy, the bathrooms are disgusting, the beds lumpy. The hotel are exploiting visitors because they are the only hotel in the area. Stay well clear. more

Based on what we saw over the course of a 10 night stay in Scotland, this place was clearly below average in every respect. To make matters worse, the rate of 33 GBP pppn was grossly overpriced. This hotel should only be used as a very last resort more

What a dingy hotel. Very run down look to it with stained carpets, filthy toilets and tables not cleaned. Even asking for a coffee in the lounge was a problem with what appears to be non-english speaking staff. This hotel should display a health warning !! more

Fousty smell, unkept interior, atmosphere unfriendly (probably because staff are embarrassed by what is on offer). Bed clean, bedroom tiny. Loose toilet seat, shower uninviting. Breakfast table unset , sticky, and crumby. No complimentary newspaper as described on paperwork. Do not be tempted to book this place. An embarrassment to Scotland tourism. more

Reading the blurb on their website we thought we were in for a highland treat , But NO........ Place is full of foul mouthed contractors, on the long way from the bar to our room we came across smelly socks and rig bootsbeing dried on the radiator outside room 11, our room was abysmal smelling of musty smoke, no hot... more

Having read some of the previous reviews on here about this place we were slightly dreading our stay there this past weekend for the Hydro-Connect Festival in Inveraray - but we shouldn't have worried. This hotel is cheap and cheerful and to be honest you get what you pay for. The rooms were simple but clean and warm. We found... more

Not the place to stay in Tyndrum! Try and book into a good B&B instead. This place is in need of knocking down. Seriously, the rooms are very poor and they are taking money from inocent people who are walking ther west highland way who have need of a bed for the night. The evening food was Ok and breakfast... more

I had high hopes for the Tyndrum Lodge, given its beautiful setting. But I was to be disappointed. The room was absolutely tiny, and the electricity didn't work, apart from the bedside lamp. Downstairs, the bar/restaurant area was nice enough, but the food was pretty terrible. I was in a group of 12, and I think all of us who... more

This hotel does not deserve any praise i am afraid. The room was smelling the smoke and not clean at all. The bathroom was noisy (fan), dirty and the shower door was not closing. In the morning, the breakfast was not much better, not a lot and not very good at all. Travel a bit further and find another hotel... more
