Here is an honest review, of our short break, spent at the royal hotel as part of a highland heritage four night stay. Things started great with a punctual pick up, from preston bus station. our luggage was loaded onto the feeder coach by the driver. We didnt touch our luggage agiain until it was delivered to our hotel room.... More

Have just returned from 8 day best of Scotland tour with Highland Heritage, the coach we travelled in was clean, comfortable and tidy but no toilet on board, however regular comfort stops during tours. The driver (Darren), was amusing, friendly and knowledgeable with his tour commentries. The hotel was clean, the room of ample size and was clean and tidy,... More

Just got home from a five day tour with Highland Heritage. The drawn out but comfortable journey was what we expected. However the hotel was a great disappointment. Superficially the staff seemed friendly and helpful but the regime was run on military precision with no allowance for diversion. The dining room was locked until minutes before the eating hour. We... More

Just got back from a true Scottish Holiday. Hotel spotless, staff were excellent, hardworking and very pleasant all the time engaging with the residents. Very keen prices so, as has been said by others, you aren't getting the Beverley Hills Hilton! Food was plentiful and cooked very nicely except for the fried eggs for breakfast (the elderly are not supposed... More

Cramped seats on coach, no toilet, seat change every day, steep coach steps, but driver (Jeff) was friendly and funny. Hotel outdated and grubby, room (73) shabby (not chick) and dark, but large with good bathroom. Lift too small and everyone needs to use it at once, even stairs got busy. Meals regimented and rushed, no time to go to... More

My friend and I have just spent 6 days at this hotel with Highland Heritage Holidays and cannot fault it in any way. The bus drivers, tours, friendly, efficient staff at the hotel, food, cleanliness where all superb. Can't wait for our next visit.

A nice hotel surrounded by masses of flowers, which I enjoy. My room no 6 a single room was excellent towels changed when required, housekeeping in room excellent, fluffy white dressing gown to wear, a nice touch after a long day. Meals were good, entertainment on some nights excellent, other nights adequate. But everyone enjoys different things. Trips out each... More

I booked a stay at this hotel because my wife & I have travelled with "Lochs & Glens" on several occasions & have exhausted all options & tours. We stayed from 3rd- 10th August, found that the hotel needs renovation, but, having said that, our room was acceptable. The annoying part is, that the bed linen was NOT changed all... More
