Me and a friend walked the WHW this August and found ourselves here after a long days walk. We asked about renting a spot to camp being unsure about how long it would be until we found a good spot to wild camp further along the way. The fellow that rented us the spot to tent charged us 10 pounds... More

Stayed here with friend for one night during west highland way walk. Cost of room was £95. The room was adequate enough, however the shower was awful (think a hamster in a wheel was powering it!) and unless you are a size 6, you will struggle to wrap the one towel provided around yourself. Dinner was served in the bar... More

Stayed here during our west highland way hike. Nicely updated room although could be noisy when people in the hall. Staff nice but not hugely helpful. Food in the pub was good and the view is excellent. Wifi only in the pub and marginally functional. Was a bit expensive. Would have rated higher if it offered better value. Enjoyed our... More

My parents live near Rowardennan and we spend part of every Summer in the area. Last year having climbed Ben Lomond, we dropped into the Rowardennan Hotel for a cup of coffee. The scone I ordered was stale ! I decided that this could happen anywhere and did not hesitate to book two rooms for late July this year prior... More

I reckon this place is let down by its owners. It has great potential to offer good accommodation, but it is not of hotel standard - too much 'help yourself' because it is grossly understaffed. It is in a great location and our room was pleasant enough, if rather dated, and with an uncomfortable bed - but it was on... More

Stopped in for a night while walking WHW. The accommodations were lovely but what really made this place for us were the 3 fellows working the bar/restaurant. Super friendly and SO welcoming. Food was pretty good as well. Ordered fish & chips and Mac & cheese. Delicious & much needed for our long hike the next day.

I have stayed here several times and I am at a complete loss to understand the less than satisfactory reviews posted here Our meal tonight was cooked fresh and very tasty - a tad expensive maybe , how ever the bar prices were reasonable so balances out The beer garden was really busy with families The staff can only be... Walking the West Highland way, this is one of the stops for us. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms had everything that you needed. The staff were polite and friendly but after staying in B&B's before in the walk, it lacked a little personal service that we had in other accommodation. The restaurant was big and again, the food... Stayed here while walking the WHW. We were upgraded to a cabin with great views and a great family room & full kitchen. I wish we would have had more time to enjoy it as we had an early day out and didn't arrive until late in the day. TVs & WIFI didn't work well but you have to expect... More

Popped in just for 3 cups of tea after climbing Ben Lomond Staggered they charged a whopping £7.05 !! We were served two (?) small pots of tea between the three of us which was watery, tasteless and looked like dish water. Obviously the cheapest of teabags. Total rip off, taking advantage of the many tourists in the area. We... More
