2nd night of the WHW and we made use of the budget bunkhouse accommodation here. Pleased to find this was not a dorm as expected and that rather we were right next to our plush enough toilet and shower room (shared with one other bunkroom). Lovely location for the hotel, and it got very busy in the large beer garden... More

Stayed there one night during our west highland way walk. The room was very nice and we had a loch side view. Sadly just at the kitchen vents. What needs to be improved is the restaurant/bar - staff is friendly no problem there, but the food is below par for this trip. Hotels with less rating have had better food.

Spent one night here while hiking the WHW. By far the most expensive of my rooms on the trip. Private bath, but it was across the hall. The room was OK, nothing special. No wifi in the hotel, just the pub. Nice pub, very popular in the evening. The reception service was OK.

Walking the west highland way in the pouring rain we saw the board advertising scones with jam and cream and a hot drink for £5.95, just the ticket we thought for a mid morning treat in the dreich weather. Into the bar which was nice and toasty and empty....in there for a good 5 mins before anyone showed face. We... More

We stayed at the Rowardennan hotel whist on the West Highland Way. It is a good hotel with friendly staff, the bar staff were excellent - a great laugh and really helpful. The food was a decent standard - nothing exciting on the menu but it was all well made and good quality. Breakfast was very hearty - porridge was... More

Myself and my partner decided to go for a drive from Glasgow to Loch Lomond. We decided to stop in at Rowardennan Hotel for a bite to eat. The bar/restaurant was very busy but nice atmosphere. We ordered our food & drinks, my partners lunch came out and the waiter told me my order wouldn't be too long. I waited... More

A beautiful location but not a particularly welcoming hotel. After checking in we had to go and search in a hut for our bags that had been left by the baggage transfer company. Our bedroom was nicely decorated but the bathroom was cold and one of the worst laid out that I've been in. After a day walking, I just... More

We are walking the West Highland Way. We had a scheduled stop organised by our walk planner. Seat is thoughtfully outside to take your boots off. Nice touch. Then you get to the front door and the notice reads that your bag is in the shed round the back. Boots back on. Reception has a bell that doesn't work. The... More

Visited here on a lovely Sunday afternoon. The place was relatively busy. Ordered a couple of meals from the menu - Penne Carbonara and Chicken Strips. The strips were okay, but battered in what appeared to be cornflakes? The carbonara was shockingly bad. Over-cooked penne pasta in what can only be described as a cheesy soup, served with unmixed bacon... More

I've never visited the Helmand Province, and I've never taken a trip to the Gaza Strip, but when the Rowardennan Hotel is only on the shores of Loch Lomond who needs to? It has everything you could wish for, from overpriced rooms (£21 per person for a 'twin room', a miniature sized, disgustingly unclean room which was freezing.) The beds... More
