Me and the boyfy needed to get away for a weekend. Work had been taking over both of our lives and we just needed something... well.. nice. That's what I would say Ardencaple was - it was nice. Nice to look at, nice to be in. When we first arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by the Duty Manager, who gave... More

Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. First time at this hotel and will definitely be back. Staff are very friendly. Had a beautiful view from our window in our room. Breakfast was beautiful couldn't fault it.

First visit on a busy Saturday night which was surprising considering how miserable the weather was: We had not booked but managed to get a table, time being early evening rather that later on in the night. All staff friendly and kept very busy. Ordered 4 main meals, i asked for no peas with my mixed grill but arrived with... More

On arriving, it looked very nice. We had booked a twin room, but found that it was in fact, a double, ok, no problems. We were with our son and daughter-in-law and we decided to,eat In the hotel in the evening, the food was good, service good, and the atmosphere was great. Sleep was awful, the pillows were not good... More

The staff were so warm and welcoming. The food was great for dinner and breakfast. Our room was large and a bit cold so the staff gave us a heater which was great. A lovely old hotel. Only a short walk to the town shops. There is a play ship and swimming pool across the road. Great location to stop... More

Hey - at £60 a night (inc VAT) what do you expect? A Travelodge will cost you the best part of the same, and a Premier Inn a whole load more. What the latter both lack the Ardencaple makes up for by the bucket load. OK, it's old(ish), some would say quaint, it's in need of a coat of paint... More

This is an absolute gem! All of the staff were so pleasant and helpful. Bridget was very friendly and made our stay super! The hotel is only a short drive from Loch Lomond and serves great food which is very reasonable. The rooms were comfortable and warm and cleaned every morning. It has a lovely feel and great atmosphere- will... More

Stayed for a family break with my husband and 2 children in order to visit nearby Loch Lomond. Quaint little place full of rustic charm. It's biggest plus is the very friendly, attentive staff. Bridget and another lovely lady who unfortunately I didn't catch her name, we're so welcoming. Highly rate on customer service alone! But the location and fab... More

The hotel is owned by GoodNightInns and has recently had some of the rooms made over. We had the main room right over the front door which was very nicely decorated with a modern bathroom and all the facilities you could need. Bed was very comfortable and view across Gareloch was fabulous. The window is still the old sash style... More
