Myself, my Husband and two other family members have just returned from staying at these chalets. On route to the chalets we received a call from the owner ( about 5pm) asking what time we would be arriving. He said that if there was no one there to greet us that the key would be in the door and gave... More

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the cedar cabins, they were much larger internally than we had expected! Great living spaces facing the lake. Good sports and activities. Rowing is well worth it if the weather is nice. We went to Aberfoyle to the butchers for BBQ meats and had a sun set only believable in the flesh.... More

Wow!!!! My partner treated me for my birthday and we have sadly just arrived home after an amazing couple of days away. We arrived Tuesday 10th in the afternoon to be met by 2 very kind and bubbly staff! We got all checked in, shown to our cabin and left to it. From looking in the cabin (we stayed in... More

Jane is brilliant!! Good birthday gift! Thanks for your your feedback about lake access, come April you can go rowing on the lake and the very brave even swim in it from about then, but walking round it has always been an issue geographically...lots of protected bits and inaccessible bits, I suppose the upside of not having a path round... Had a great time as usual, this was our 4th visit,a great welcome as usual, chalet was spotless and on last day they let us stay on a wee bit longer,I would highly recommend going here for some tranquility, the kids loved it as well, the lake was frozen over and we had a laugh as a duck ran on to the ice and... Perfect! A lovely lovely place, clean, tidy, everything we required. We booked online for my birthday, the write ups and website looked great. We arrived late, nothing was too much trouble. The place is so scenic, we did not leave all weekend. Just spent time in the chalet and chilled. Highly recommended to all. Thank you so much, we will... More

We (2 of us) stayed in the cedar cabins for three days midweek. Cabins are clean and comfortable. Well stocked with kitchen ware. Staff were welcoming and it was nice walking into a pre heated cabin on a dreich Scottish winter's day.. The only reason I have given this 3* is because personally I found the cabins too close together... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback and we are glad that on the whole you liked what we have to offer. It is true that the Cedar Cabins are side by side – we hope the website description is honest about that – but I was really sorry that, with such a short break, your visit... More

Although basic the chalets are nice and comfortable, they are al situated next to the lake and when the weather is good you can see the Ben Lomond from the terrace. The chalets are clean and well equiped. However the kitchen could do with an extra fan the smell from the cooking lasts long. Hospitality and welcome are great!

It's magic when our customers want to come back, and that you see the bits and pieces we do annually to keep the houses up to date, but the big draw must surely be Lochend, a place where folk have holidayed since the early 1800's!! but with our family, in the Cedar Cabins, since 1974! Thanks for taking the time... More
