What a shame I wasn't able to access this site before my recent stay at the 'hotel'. It was late when I arrived in Luss and after a quick walk around this lovely village decided to stay in the olde-worlde looking hotel. I should have been warned by the old, tread-bare, moth-eaten stag's head that looked balefully down on me... more

We were highly disappointed with our stay in the Colquhoun Arms hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the meal was lovely, but our night was ruined by the lame and ridiculous kareoke/disco, if it could be called that. A pompous ridiculous man apperared after the band, and declared that he was the entertainment for the rest of the... more

This was the worst "hotel" we have ever stayed in, sheets had not been changed, room was filthy, couldn't even open the windows as they were stuck with paint, carpets, what there was left of them, were stained - disgusting! Food was terrible, complained to owners who could not care a damn and said that the price was reasonable for... more

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The whole hotel is dirty, scruffy and run down. The room was tiny, bed & pillows were uncomfortable with springs & buttons sticking out of the matteress, the floor boards need repaired & the shower was black with fungus which had been painted over in an attempt to... more

Well, what can I say? Our room had a four-poster bed but it didn't make up for the two large patches of soaking wet wall, one at the head of the bed. The whole place was scruffy and run down with peeling paintwork, rotten window sills and an air of neglect about it. The bar was not up to much,... more

Really enjoyed my lunch in the Pub of The Colquhoun Arms! Good food and service in the typical Scottish Pub! Luss is a VERY small scenic village with a VERY limited selection of places to eat. The other places to eat (few to select from) were VERY EXPENSIVE. The Pub in The Colquhoun Arms has a good selection of food... more

Decided to stay overnight en route to Fort William. Found the hotel to be a let down considering its location. Luss seems to have a lack of places to stay and it appears the owners rely on this to get customers as the appearance and facilities available in the hotel are mediocre and dated. The room was slighty pricey for... more

After a good day watching the Scottish Open we arrived at this Hotel, to find no electricity, which I suppose was out of their hands, but consequently no showers, and no hot food. We did manage to get a wash in the hand basin, but when the water was let out, up it came again in the shower cubicle, to... more

I was a guest at Colquhoun Arms for 8 days and 7 nights and with the hotel located at the edge of the village of Luss and only a 3 minute walk to Loch Lomond I must say it was very charming. The manager and staff are very friendly, the pub offered a decent menu for a small kitchen. As... more

From previous reviews we'd been expecting some damp, run-down dive with Basil Fawlty as the owner, so it was with some trepidation that we arrived late to announce our arrival. Instead we got a warm welcome from the manager and this pleasant attitude was to continue until we left. A nice cosy bar, although it closes at 2300, and a... more
