This place could be a gold mine - the setting is fantastic and there aren't a great abundance of pubs nearby. However. The barmaid asked me if Guinness was 'a beer' or not, fairly simple stuff for a barmaid we would have thought, and just about everything we ordered off the menu was unavailable. The manageress (or the senior member... more

VEry disapointed in the room which had not been properly cleaned, sash window had been broken for sime months and although the Hotel is in a good position it is totally overpriced for the poor state of the accomodation. We understand that it is hoped to demolish the rear of the building and to build new accomodation. Food only available... more

Crikey, I'm startng to sound like an apologist for the most appalling dives on the planet but the Colquhoun Arms was fine. Dare I say it's creaky floor boards and antique TV sets gave it ... um, character. OK, it's not the Ritz and it wasn't built yesterday, or even the day before, for that matter. Here's the story. We'd... more

Having read some of the terrible reviews on this hotel I would like to say that this is a nice hotel with nice rooms and bar. Stayed here before and will be staying here again. more

We stayed one night. Was the worst place I have ever stopped in my world travels! Walked into room 7 to find a damp mold smell, investiagation showed that a pipe under the floor was leaking and had sent the carpet moldy. Bird poo on the wardrobe the window had been left open becasue of the smell with a block... more

Food ok, but were overcharged at the bar. Hotel had some perculiar smells. Our room had the most unwholly smell which kept me awake most of the night. The pillows were flat, but instead of investing in new ones they just stuffed two pillows into one pillowcase and the mattress must have been from 1950's (very lumpy). Carpet hadn't been... more

Met at Reception by a lady who didn't know how to smile. I asked her if there was a discount for children, to which she just shook her head. On asking where the waterfront was, she said it was not in Luss but on the other side of Balmaha!! I'm still trying to figure out what she thought I'd said.... more
