Wow! What a fabulous place. We stayed on a Friday night and upgraded to a Courtyard room - well worth the extra. The rooms are fantastic with lots of nice touches. The freestanding bath and steam room/shower were excellent as was the wood burning fire in front of the rug. Arriving in early Feb, you are never quite sure what... More

We went to Monachyle Mhor in March 2011. We were recommended it by many people and ended up going for a few nights for our honeymoon as our original plans had to change due to health reasons. It is certainly not the cheapest place to stay but we were happy to be upgraded on our arrival. The room was not... More

Stayed here between Christmas and New Year. Unfortunately the weather was poor so did not see the setting in all it's splendour. Hotel was clean, staff friendly & polite. More importantly the food was delicious. We stayed in a room in the main building, so only had to climb the stairs after dinner. Will be back again. More

We had the privilege of staying here over new year on a 3 night package and were bowled over by this little gem of a place, Tom runs a fabulous operation his food is excellent and his team also went out of their way to make us feel at home. The drive up to the hotel is always a sheer... More

What a wonderful place. We arrived early and had lunch in the small bar area, a cozy and warm start to our time at the hotel as it was one of the rainiest days of our trip. After exploring the area that afternoon, we hung out in the living room area and were able to access the wifi, read and... More

My husband and I have been lucky enough to stay at Monachyle Mhor twice and we absolutely love it. Our most recent stay was for three nights over New Year and once again it was fantastic. We stayed in a feature room in the coach house, lovely sitting area, bathroom and nice views to the hills one way, and over... More

We have visited Balquhidder for walking trips a couple of times and today we decided to treat ourselves to lunch at Monachyle Mhor following our drive from Edinburgh. The food was absolutely delicious, the service fabulous and the roaring fire just gorgeous. Our two young boys were made most welcome and they too enjoyed their meal very much - especially... More

Stayed here during October had an amazing short break. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Even when we asked to change rooms on our 1st day. The food was outstanding and they even let me have fresh copies of the menus when we left. Wonderful views as you can see. More

We visited Monachyle Mhor for lunch yesterday and decided on a whim to stay the night, a great choice! Tom's lovely wife Lisa gave us a great discounted DB&B rate and allocated us a beautiful dog friendly room in the courtyard, the excellent But and Ben room. As we hadn't planned on staying, she even lent us dog bowls and... More
