We stayed at the Killin Hotel for seven days. This is a very convenient hotel for seeing all parts of Scotland if you are looking for a "home base". I know everyone has their own views and standards, but this place is simply the pits. We arrived at 5:30pm on a wild and stormy February evening. After fighting with the doors against the wind (to close them, not open them!) we waited a few minutes before either of the two staff at the desk condescended to attend to us.... more

Looks good from the outside but very dated and a bit smelly inside. Expensive for what you get; this is the type of hotel that is only interested in taking your money and not in giving a service. Seven of us stayed one night at the Killin Hotel, Killin, Perthshire, Scotland when hillwalking. Staff very friendly. Evening meal (steaks & chips) and self service breakfast very good.
